Whether it’s UNO City or the Opera Ball, Vienna has always attracted visitors from all over the world. Over the last few days, the city on the Danube has seen a very special international gathering: 73 teams of Audi service advisors and technicians from 38 nations travelled to the Austrian capital in a bid to take home the Audi Service World Championship title. Excellent technical know-how and passionate customer orientation led the team from Turkey to victory in this year’s final.
“Increasingly individualized customer requirements, extensive digitalization and many other technological breakthroughs in our industry bring about fundamental changes in the after sales business,” said Markus Siebrecht, Senior Director After Sales/Genuine Parts at AUDI AG, during yesterday’s award ceremony at the Hofburg Palace in Vienna. “Audi benefits from preparing its international service team for new trends at an early stage and by providing comprehensive training. The Twin Cup plays an important part in this.”
Teams competing in the Audi Twin Cup perform theoretical and practical exercises that reflect typical working situations at the dealership. A jury assesses both personal interaction with the customer and specialist expertise in the areas of diagnostics and repair. One of the key themes of this year’s championship was digitalization in the car and at the dealership: from the wide range of assistance systems in the Audi models through to working with the digital service plan and the Audi service key, which enables employees to access initial service-related vehicle data from their desks.
Audi Twin Cup participants can only come out on top by demonstrating teamwork, as close cooperation between service advisors and technicians is essential to achieve good results. Before competing against each other in the two-day final in Vienna, the 73 teams from Audi’s worldwide dealer network qualified in national competitions involving more than 3,600 teams with a total of around 10,000 participants.
The overall winner of this year’s Audi Twin Cup from Turkey was followed in second place by the service advisors and technicians from Finland, while the team from Slovakia took third place.
The international final of the Audi Twin Cup is held every year. All dealerships that have a valid service contract with AUDI AG are eligible to compete in the After Sales World Championship.
