Following much anticipation, the all-new Toyota Land Cruiser Prado has officially launched in South Africa. This latest version seamlessly combines the legendary Land Cruiser DNA with cutting-edge technologies, delivering enhanced performance both off-road and in everyday driving.
More than 70 years since the debut of the original Toyota BJ, the new Land Cruiser Prado stays true to its roots by focusing on its core quality as a reliable vehicle that can take you to your destination and bring you back home, even in the harshest conditions.
At the heart of the new Land Cruiser Prado is a robust 150kW 2.8-litre turbodiesel engine, paired with a new eight-speed Direct Shift automatic transmission. This powertrain enables the Prado to tow loads up to 3500kg with ease. Inside, the Prado offers flexible seating configurations with options for five or seven seats, all within a design that embodies the strength and functionality expected from a true off-roader.
The Prado’s three-variant range upholds the rugged capability synonymous with the Land Cruiser name, featuring significant improvements in drivability, technology, and design. The TX variant sets a strong foundation with features like a fully leather-upholstered cabin, heated seats for the driver and passenger, a heated steering wheel, a heads-up display, and a wireless charging station.
The VX-R variant takes it a step further, incorporating advanced features such as a digital rear-view mirror and a larger infotainment screen. The First Edition, the pinnacle of the new Land Cruiser lineup, is available only in limited numbers and for a limited period.
Distinctive round headlamps set the First Edition apart from the TX and VX-R models, which feature rectangular headlights.

Toyota owners can create a personal MyToyota profile, designed by Toyota SA to provide a convenient platform for accessing all vehicle-related information and services. Furthermore, all new Toyota vehicles come equipped with a device that unlocks a range of features. By opting in, owners gain access to in-car WiFi capabilities with a complimentary 25GB of data, along with a suite of additional Connect services.
