Munich/Cannes — Glittering movie premieres, stars on the red carpet, and a high-performance vehicle like no other: the Cannes Film Festival provided the perfect backdrop for the world premiere of the BMW XM Mystique Allure. This one-of-a-kind creation is the latest innovation from BMW M GmbH, powered by the cutting-edge M HYBRID drive system. Combining progressive luxury with a bold, extravagant design, the vehicle draws inspiration from British supermodel Naomi Campbell and incorporates exclusive haute couture materials. Its unique soundtrack, developed in collaboration with acclaimed film score composer Hans Zimmer, further enhances its allure.
The BMW XM Mystique Allure marks the newest chapter in the ongoing partnership between BMW and Naomi Campbell. This collaboration began last year with the “Dare to be You” campaign for the BMW XM, celebrating individuality and self-confidence.
A Glamorous Debut at the 77th Cannes Film Festival
The 77th Cannes Film Festival provided an ideal setting for the grand unveiling of the BMW XM Mystique Allure. Amid the picturesque French Riviera, Naomi Campbell introduced this exclusive vehicle to a select audience before making a dramatic entrance at the Palais des Festivals et des Congrès. “Witnessing BMW’s vision for the BMW XM Mystique Allure come to life has been truly incredible,” said Campbell. “I feel deeply honored to have sparked the inspiration for their first-ever high-fashion show car, which stands as a unique masterpiece in every aspect.”
For the third consecutive year, BMW served as the Official Automotive Partner of the Cannes Film Festival. This year, the brand offered an exclusive shuttle service with over 200 vehicles, including the all-electric BMW i7, BMW iX, and BMW i5, as well as the plug-in hybrid BMW XM, providing participants and guests with a premium, emission-free mobility experience.
Innovative Use of High-Fashion Materials
The BMW XM Mystique Allure is the first BMW vehicle to feature materials from the high-fashion industry. This collaboration redefines the BMW XM with a distinctive, avant-garde aesthetic that is both stylish and luxurious. The vehicle’s exterior, inspired by Naomi Campbell’s favorite color, showcases a deeply saturated ultramarine hue with a lustrous matte finish. This design seamlessly integrates high-fashion elements, using rich velvet and shimmering Frozen metallic sequins to create a visual symphony of intense violet and deep ultramarine shades.
Crafted with meticulous handcraftsmanship and attention to detail, the iridescent surfaces reflect the BMW XM’s geometric forms, adding visual depth to its extroverted design. The interior continues this theme, with purple velvet adorning all surfaces, including the luxurious M Lounge in the rear.
BMW IconicSounds Electric: A Unique Auditory Experience
The bold design of the BMW XM Mystique Allure is matched by its distinctive acoustic character. Developed in collaboration with Hans Zimmer, the BMW IconicSounds Electric provides an emotionally engaging soundtrack for the vehicle’s locally emission-free driving experience. In the M HYBRID system’s all-electric mode, the soundscape enhances the vehicle’s commanding presence and performance.
The BMW XM: A Pinnacle of Performance and Luxury
The BMW XM is a groundbreaking model, the first since the legendary BMW M1 to be designed solely as a high-performance vehicle by BMW M GmbH. It combines dynamic power with innovative luxury, featuring a striking design with muscular proportions and powerful contours. Key design elements include split headlight units, Iconic Glow contour lighting for the kidney grille, and 23-inch light-alloy wheels.
The BMW XM also pioneers with its M HYBRID system, making it the first high-performance vehicle from BMW M GmbH to incorporate an electrified drive. The BMW XM Label Red variant, with a maximum output of 550 kW/748 hp, is the most powerful series-produced, road-legal car ever made by BMW M GmbH.
