Modena’s finest meet motorsport royalty as Maserati ignites the Hillclimb with a world premiere and a fleet of thrilling supercars

Goodwood, July 7, 2025 – Maserati has made an unforgettable impression at this year’s Goodwood Festival of Speed, bringing Italian flair, precision engineering and motorsport heritage to the forefront of one of the world’s most iconic automotive events. The House of the Trident unveiled a highly anticipated world debut alongside three striking performance machines—the GranCabrio, GT2 Stradale, and MCXtrema—each tackling the legendary Hillclimb in spectacular fashion.

This year’s Festival serves as a high-octane stage for Maserati’s continued renaissance, reinforcing its bold vision for the future while honouring a century of Trident racing legacy.

A New Maserati Breaks Cover

The undisclosed world premiere has been touted as a “new and authentic expression of energy,” crafted entirely in the Maserati way—a synthesis of cutting-edge engineering, progressive design, and unmistakable Italian soul. While full details remain under wraps, its dramatic reveal at Goodwood signals the next chapter in Maserati’s evolution. Conceived in Modena and presented in the heart of British motorsport culture, the debut encapsulates the brand’s seamless blend of heritage and innovation.

Supercar Trinity: Craft, Character and Capability

In a showcase that blends high performance with high art, Maserati’s presence in the Supercar Paddock exudes intent. Each vehicle on display reflects the brand’s relentless pursuit of performance and sophistication.

The GT2 Stradale, a road-homologated version of the competition-spec GT2, brings Maserati’s track-proven expertise to public roads. Powered by the revered Nettuno V6, the GT2 Stradale churns out 640 CV (471 kW), hits 100 km/h in just 2.7 seconds, and boasts a top speed north of 320 km/h. Its presence is equally ferocious, cloaked in a glossy Blu Corse livery from Officine Fuoriserie Maserati, adorned with matte carbon-fibre accents, and anchored by 20-inch alloy wheels. Inside, racing intent meets Italian refinement—Alcantara Blu seats, fine black upholstery, and a purpose-built cockpit complete the scene.

In contrast, the Maserati GranCabrio presents a more relaxed but no less evocative interpretation of performance. Finished in a resplendent Verde Giada with ice-coloured perforated leather and Crio Glossy Black wheels, the GranCabrio is the epitome of grand touring elegance. But make no mistake—underneath the sculpted exterior lies a 490-hp Nettuno twin-turbo V6, good for 0–100 km/h in four seconds and a 300 km/h top speed. A retractable soft top and true four-seat layout ensure it’s as much a grand tourer as it is a convertible powerhouse.

Completing the trifecta is the MCXtrema—a pure-bred, track-only supercar that represents Maserati unleashed. Limited to just 62 units, this 740-hp titan is a visceral expression of raw performance, wrapped in Blue Xtrema livery and engineered for connoisseurs of speed. With its 3.0-litre twin-turbo V6 tuned to extreme levels, the MCXtrema is more than a machine—it’s a statement. Crafted for gentleman racers and elite collectors, it embodies Maserati’s motorsport DNA like no other.

Taming the Hill: Maserati on the Move

Beyond their static allure, these machines proved their mettle on the world-renowned Goodwood Hillclimb. Winding through ancient woodland, sharp bends and unforgiving flint walls, the 1.9-kilometre stretch is as technically demanding as it is iconic. Each Maserati model made the ascent with purpose, their engines echoing through West Sussex as a testament to the brand’s enduring capability and spirit.

Goodwood’s course, with its 100-meter vertical rise, separates the exceptional from the merely capable. Maserati’s trio didn’t just participate—they elevated the experience, captivating crowds and reaffirming the Trident’s place among the elite.

More Than a Moment: A Milestone in Maserati’s Journey

This moment at Goodwood is far more than a showcase—it’s a statement of Maserati’s future-forward trajectory. In 2025, Maserati celebrates the Year of the Trident, commemorating 100 years of the brand’s iconic emblem and preparing for the centennial of its first racing triumph. In 1926, the Tipo 26 marked Maserati’s competitive debut at the Targa Florio, claiming victory and cementing a legacy that continues today.

That legacy is now infused with electric ambition, cutting-edge materials, and boundary-pushing performance. Yet, Maserati remains deeply rooted in Modena, where every bolt, stitch, and line is touched by Italy’s finest artisans and engineers. This balance between past and present defines the Trident—and at Goodwood, it shines brighter than ever.

Looking Ahead

As the dust settles on another exhilarating Festival of Speed, Maserati leaves with more than applause—it departs with momentum. The world debut is a tantalising promise of what’s to come, and the performance of the GranCabrio, GT2 Stradale, and MCXtrema affirms that the Trident is not just celebrating its heritage but rewriting it.

Maserati is not looking back. It’s accelerating forward—faster, louder, and more beautifully than ever.
