TORONTO, ON, Canada – Monday, September 30, 2024 – Today marks the official launch of the Road to World Car 2025, a prestigious awards program that celebrates automotive excellence on a global scale. Inaugurated in 2003 and launched in January 2004, the awards reflect the dynamic nature of the automotive marketplace, highlighting innovation, performance, and design across a diverse range of vehicles.

A Journey of Discovery
The Road to World Car Awards is not merely a competition; it is a collaborative journey involving over 100 highly respected automotive journalists from around the globe. These jurors, equipped with extensive knowledge and experience, embark on a rigorous testing phase where they drive and evaluate eligible vehicles for the 2025 awards. Their insights and votes will shape the landscape of automotive recognition, ensuring that only the most deserving contenders are honored.

The excitement begins today with the official launch, setting the stage for the next significant event—the 10th annual “L.A. Test Drives” media event in Pasadena, CA, scheduled for November. This event promises to be an exhilarating showcase of the latest innovations and advancements in automotive engineering, providing jurors with invaluable hands-on experiences.

Countdown to the Finals
As the journey unfolds, anticipation builds for the World Car Finals Powered by Brembo, returning for its seventh consecutive year. In early January 2025, the countdown to the winners’ announcement will commence with the unveiling of the Top 10 World Car of the Year finalists, alongside the Top 5 finalists in various categories, including World Electric Vehicle, World Luxury Car, World Performance Car, World Urban Car, and World Car Design of the Year.

The excitement continues to crescendo when the finalists are narrowed down to the Top Three in the World, set to be announced virtually in March 2025. This moment will be pivotal, as it highlights the vehicles that have captured the jury’s admiration and set new benchmarks in their respective categories.

A Grand Finale
The culmination of this prestigious journey will take place at the New York International Auto Show on Wednesday, April 16, 2025. The grand finale, a live awards ceremony, will see the winners in six categories declared amidst the electric atmosphere of one of the world’s foremost automotive exhibitions. This year’s ceremony is particularly special, as it coincides with the 125th anniversary of the New York Auto Show, marking two decades of partnership between the show and the World Car Awards.

The excitement surrounding the awards is amplified by the release of the 2025 provisional list of eligible vehicles, now available on the official website. This comprehensive list showcases the impressive array of contenders vying for recognition in a competitive and ever-evolving automotive landscape.
