With 2025 marking the 40th anniversary of the Toyota Land Cruiser Prado, Arctic Trucks (AT) is once again pushing the boundaries of extreme off-road capability with the highly anticipated Land Cruiser 250 / Prado AT37. Developed in collaboration with Toyota Africa distributor, CFAO, this latest iteration blends Arctic Trucks’ unparalleled expertise in off-road mobility with cutting-edge innovations from the UK’s Motorsport Valley. The result? A vehicle that redefines what it means to be both cool and capable.
A Legacy of Extreme Performance
Originally founded as a specialist division of Toyota in 1990, Arctic Trucks has been instrumental in advancing off-road engineering, setting multiple world records and firsts in some of the most unforgiving environments on Earth. The AT37 is the latest embodiment of this legacy, featuring extensive re-engineering that enhances the Land Cruiser’s already formidable reputation.
According to Arctic Trucks International R&D Manager, Freyr Þeórsson, developing the AT37 within the heart of Motorsport Valley has enabled seamless collaboration with key suppliers, resulting in a vehicle that excels in performance across all terrains. Arctic Trucks UK Managing Director, Peter Smith, adds, “This collaboration has created a vehicle that is truly fit for any market, combining our three decades of off-road expertise with state-of-the-art technology from the UK supply chain.”
Engineering Excellence: Built to Conquer Any Terrain
The AT37 takes its name from its massive 37-inch BFGoodrich All-Terrain T/A KO3 or Mud-Terrain T/A KM3 tyres, mounted on Arctic Trucks’ all-new retro-inspired ‘Heritage’ forged alloy wheels. These wheels, featuring a dual-valve design for precise tyre pressure modulation, enhance strength while reducing weight.
Further complementing the off-road capability is a bespoke two-way adjustable performance suspension system developed with Dakar-winning specialists, R53 Suspension. The system includes high-tensile hard chrome steel shafts, large-diameter monotube dampers, matched springs, and hydraulic bump stops. The addition of low-friction, nano-enhanced oil flow technology ensures peak performance in all conditions.
To accommodate its increased tyre size, Arctic Trucks has reprofiled the Land Cruiser’s frame, bodywork, and drivetrain. A wider track and extended wheelbase enhance stability, ensuring both superior off-road capability and refined on-road handling. From navigating rocky trails to gliding over soft snow and deep sand, the AT37 delivers tracked vehicle-like performance with the drivability of a standard SUV.

Distinctive Design and Functional Enhancements
Arctic Trucks’ signature widebody flares, incorporating a tyre pressure guide and central tyre inflation system connection recesses, give the AT37 an unmistakable presence. Newly contoured AT mud guards provide additional protection, while robust extended-profile side steps, featuring extruded aluminum profiles and high-grip rubberized inserts, enhance accessibility.
Inside, the AT37 boasts premium detailing, including Arctic Trucks-branded gear selectors, dash trims, sill plates, and interior mats in its signature black and lava color scheme. A discreet 2-inch multifunction receiver hitch at the rear enables quick attachment of tow balls, winches, gear carriers, and more, enhancing versatility for work and leisure applications.
A Global Rollout
As an official Toyota partner in multiple regions, Arctic Trucks will launch the Land Cruiser 250 / Prado AT37 from Q2 2025, available through official dealerships and direct customer conversions across Europe, North America, the Middle East, and Africa. Thomas Cogez, Toyota Sales and Marketing Director at CFAO, expresses excitement about the collaboration, stating, “By combining Toyota’s engineering excellence with Arctic Trucks’ expertise, we aim to deliver a next-level driving experience that redefines performance and durability.”
