Voting now begins to choose the World’s Best Car 2023
Expectations are high as more than 60 women motoring journalists from 44 countries on five continents choose from 59 candidate cars for the awards given annually by the Women’s World Car of the Year
The members of the WWCOTY jury will initially select winners in six different categories: Urban Car, Family Car, Large Sedan, Large SUV, Sports Car and 4×4/Pick-Up. Those who achieve the highest score in each of these categories will go through to the next phase, leading to the final unveiling of the WWCOTY World’s Best Car 2023. The winners in each category will be announced on February 15 with the supreme winner announced a few days later on March 8 coinciding with International Women’s Day.
The aim of this unique award is to recognize the best cars of the year and to give a voice to women in the automotive world. The voting criteria is based on the same principles that guide any driver when buying a vehicle. It is not “the woman’s car” because such a concept does not exist, but a car for everyone. Aspects such as safety, quality, price, design, ease of driving and environmental footprint, among others, are factors that the jurors take into account when voting.
This year, the WWCOTY awards are more important than ever because the industry is facing major challenges such as climate change and supply hampered by the semiconductor crisis.
The Women’s World Car of the Year, the world’s only jury composed solely of female motoring experts, has a crossover audience of more than 500 million people and is crucially important to consumers around the globe.

About Women’s World Car of the Year
Women’s World Car of the Year is the only car awards group in the world comprised exclusively of women motoring journalists. It was created by New Zealand motoring journalist, Sandy Myhre, in 2009. She is currently Honorary President while Marta García performs as Executive President.
However, beyond choosing the best cars of the year, our goal is also to give visibility to women in the automotive world, to contribute to making women’s voices heard on all continents because mobility for a woman means access to many personal and professional possibilities.
