Aerodynamic enhancements add an aggressive look to the Hyundai Getz 1.4, Accent and Accent Hatch
Hyundai Automotive South Africa (Pty) Ltd. recently introduced a new sporty derivative to each of its three most successful ranges of passenger vehicles – the Getz, Accent Sedan and Accent Hatch. Aptly branded ‘SR’, these vehicles have been given a more aggressive styling that should appeal to a younger market in search of some street credibility.
The sportier look has been achieved with the addition of front and side skirts, a stylish rear spoiler and a full set of 15-inch alloy wheels on the Getz SR and the Accent Sedan SR.
The Accent Hatch SR is fitted with front and rear spoilers and side skirts that lower drag and heighten the appeal.
“Even before we launched the Getz, Accent Sedan and Accent Hatch, we knew the vehicles had the potential for this type of enhancement,” said Stanley Anderson, Marketing and After-Sales Director at Hyundai South Africa. “Their lines lend themselves to being enhanced with the addition of a professionally designed body kit.’
Based on this vision, Hyundai South Africa approached AK Sport, an established company with an excellent track record in the design, production and fitment of after-market parts.
“Our customers often enhance the look of their vehicles based on their personal preference,” said Anderson. “Unfortunately there are a number of kits on the market that are of sub-standard quality, but with the SR range we ensure that the customer receives a premium finished product. AK Sport brings with it years of experience in this field. The parts are of the highest quality and the fitment is done by skilled technicians.”
An added advantage to individuals looking for a more personalised mode of transport is that all three the vehicles in the SR range are registered derivatives within their respective model ranges.
“Although the vehicle is slightly more expensive due to the cosmetic additions,” continues Anderson, “the owner will not lose as much when the time comes to trade in the vehicle. Usually cosmetic enhancements are made after the vehicle has been purchased and often at a huge cost. When this vehicle is then traded in, the enhancements are not taken into account when a trade-in price is established. This will not be the case with the SR range.”
All three SR derivatives come with Hyundai’s leading 5 year/150 000 km manufacturer’s warranty which is currently the longest warranty to be offered standard across a whole range of vehicles.
