The Guild of Motoring Writers has announced the three-strong shortlists for each of its 14 prestigious annual awards, confirming the calibre and diversity of talent that continues to shape automotive journalism, PR and photography across the UK and beyond.
Winners will be revealed on Thursday, 4 December, during the Guild’s black-tie dinner at its long-established home—the Royal Automobile Club, Pall Mall, London. Finalists and guests will gather for an evening that traditionally draws leading journalists, industry figures and notable contributors to the motoring world. Alongside trophies, each category winner will also receive a cash prize, adding further recognition to their achievements.
Celebrating Excellence Across the Motoring Media Spectrum
While the 14 core categories form the backbone of the awards, the evening will also feature several additional honours recognising talent, contribution and impact across motorsport, motorcycling, diversity and broader industry engagement. These include:
- Driver of the Year
- Rider of the Year
- Outstanding Achievement in Motorsport
- GOMW Diversity Award
- GOMW Special Commendation sponsored by Kia
- Pemberton Trophy
- President’s Trophy
Each sits alongside the evening’s most coveted accolade: the Sue Baker Journalist of the Year, sponsored by loop. Named in tribute to the Guild’s former Chair, this top award is selected exclusively from the winners of the other categories, marking it as a recognition of the very best among the best.
