• Introduction of the Audi A1 Amplified Package

The Audi A1 range condenses all of the virtues of the Audi brand –progressive design, uncompromising quality and ground-breaking efficiency – into a space of less than four meters.

The Audi A1 was introduced in February 2011 and marked Audi’s entry into the competitive premium compact hatch segment of the South African market. The Audi A1 Sportback followed suit in 2012, expanding the range to a more practical and well-rounded offering, catering to its modern customer group – a young, urban, lifestyle-oriented individual. To date, the Audi A1 range has found 4,244 customers in South Africa.

Audi A1 Engine range:

The entry-level 1.2 TFSI engine generates 63 kW and produces its peak torque of 160 Nm between 1,500 and 3,500 rpm. Coupled with a five-speed manual transmission, it consumes just 5.1 litres of fuel per 100 km, which corresponds to only 118 grams of CO₂ per km.

The 1.4 TFSI displacing 1,390 cc is available in two versions. With the 90 kW version, the four-cylinder unit is boosted by a turbocharger with a peak torque of 200 Nm, available between 1,500 and 4,000 rpm. Its average fuel consumption is just 5.4 litres per 100 km; with the seven-speed S tronic, this improves to 5.3 litres per 100 km.

The most powerful engine in the model series is also a 1.4 TFSI. The four-cylinder unit, which is only available with S tronic, produces 136 kW and 250 Nm of torque. The sprint from zero to 100 km/h is a matter of 7.0 seconds, and the top speed is 227 km/h. Average fuel consumption is just 5.9 litres per 100 km.

The diesel engine on offer is a four-cylinder 1.6 TDI turbodiesel unit, delivering 77 kW of maximum power at 4 400 r/min, together with 250 Nm of torque between

1 500 and 2 500 r/min. Fuel consumption is just 3.8 litres/100 km.

Audi A1 Amplified:

Customisation is a unique feature of the Audi A1 offering, allowing customers to give their A1 an individual touch. From roof arch colours, to airvents and interior colours, the customisation options cater for every taste.

Audi South Africa is pleased to introduce an Audi Genuine Accessories package available to factory-fit on your vehicle, which combines an array of popular customisation features into one package. The new edition models are based on the Ambition line, which is available for all engine versions of both models. The models combine exclusive optional features from Audi, quattro GmbH and Audi Genuine Accessories. The Audi A1 Amplified package is a limited edition styling package available exclusively with a choice of Misano Red or Glacier White exterior colours.

The Audi A1 Amplified package includes a high-gloss black roof arch on the three-door and full roof dome on the Sportback, S line roof spoiler, exterior mirror housings and single-frame grille. The exterior is further accentuated by 17-inch alloy wheels in five-arm design with black inserts and a matt, transparent film for the engine hood, roof and rear hatch. Eye-catching features inside the car include air vent sleeves in the body colour, black sport seats with stitching in Parade Red or Rock Gray and floor mats with piping in matching colours. The package is priced at R20,580 and provides high value in the customisation of the Audi A1.
