Johannesburg, September 26, 2013: Tata Motors today launched its new generation bakkie range – Tata Xenon XT in South Africa. The Tata Xenon XT is packed with eXTra features in all aspects – performance, safety, comfort, style and functionality – it is truly built to TAKE IT TO THE XTREME.
The Tata Xenon XT comes with impressive features that give it a competitive edge amongst other lifestyle bakkie options in the South African market. The Tata Xenon XT range comes in 4 variants – Single Cab (4X2), Single Cab (4X4), Double Cab (4X2) and Double Cab (4X4). The Tata Xenon XT is packed with XTreme Technology. It is powered by a new generation 2.2L VTT DiCOR (Variable Turbine Technology, Direct Injection Common Rail) engine that is controlled by a 32-bit electronic control unit and incorporates state-of-the-art technology. This is the same Euro V engine that powers the Xenon range across the world. This engine has been fine-tuned to meet domestic Euro II requirements. The new engine delivers an incredible peak power of 110 kW @ 4000 rpm and peak torque of 320 Nm over a wide rpm range of 1500 – 3000. The vertical centralised injector and the variable swirl system together provide good air and fuel mixing that result in complete combustion and outstanding fuel efficiency and therefore, low emissions. This innovative engine technology not only provides the best-in-class performance but is also environment-friendly.
