Johannesburg, Thursday, 4 September 2025 – Tata Motors has lifted the veil on the Tata Curvv, a revolutionary SUV-coupé that redefines what South Africans can expect from the C-SUV segment. With its fusion of futuristic design, advanced technology, and turbocharged performance, the Curvv is crafted for those who demand more than the ordinary.
“The Curvv is a glimpse into the future of mobility in South Africa,” says Thato Magasa, CEO of Tata Motors Passenger Vehicles Distributor. “It embodies innovation, safety, and luxury, offering customers an SUV that is as forward-thinking as they are.”
Design that Dares to Stand Out
The Tata Curvv makes an immediate statement with its coupé-inspired silhouette, chiselled lines, and aerodynamic stance. A symmetrical grille flanked by bold lighting elements gives the SUV an assertive presence, while slim headlamps, sequential LED DRLs with welcome animation, and chrome detailing add sophistication.
Flush door handles with welcome lighting, a dual-tone roof, and 18-inch alloy wheels with aerodynamic inserts reinforce the vehicle’s premium design language. With dimensions of 4,308mm in length, 1,810mm in width, and 1,635mm in height – coupled with a generous 208mm ground clearance – the Curvv strikes a balance between style and SUV practicality.
A Cabin of Sophistication
Inside, the Curvv is designed as a sanctuary of technology and comfort. Drivers are greeted by a 10.25-inch Harman infotainment touchscreen with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, complemented by a fully digital instrument cluster. Features such as wireless smartphone charging, a powered tailgate, and a voice-assisted panoramic sunroof with mood lighting elevate the ownership experience.
A nine-speaker JBL audio system with dedicated sound modes transforms every drive into a concert-like experience. Persona-themed interiors, ventilated front seats, a six-way powered driver’s seat, and an air purifier with AQI display ensure the cabin blends luxury with wellbeing. With seating for five, a reclining rear bench, and a 500-litre boot, the Curvv is as practical as it is stylish.

Safety and Engineering Excellence
Built on Tata’s ATLAS (Adaptive Tech-Forward Lifestyle Architecture) platform, the Curvv is engineered for strength, crash safety, and refinement. Advanced safety features include six airbags, ABS with EBD, ESP, and a 360-degree Surround View Camera. The model proudly holds a 5-star Bharat NCAP rating, underscoring Tata Motors’ commitment to uncompromised safety.
Turbocharged Performance
At its heart, the Curvv is powered by a 1.2-litre Revotron turbocharged petrol engine, producing 88kW and 170Nm. Customers can choose between a six-speed manual transmission or a sophisticated seven-speed dual-clutch automatic (DCA). The DCA features shift-by-wire technology, active cooling, and machine learning for responsive, efficient performance. Paddle shifters and selectable drive modes further enhance the driving experience.
A Choice of Three Derivatives
South African buyers can select from three well-equipped models:
- Curvv 1.2T Pure + MT (R349,900) – manual transmission, powered tailgate, LED headlamps, 7-inch infotainment system.
- Curvv 1.2T Creative DCA (R419,900) – dual-clutch auto, 10.25-inch Harman infotainment, wireless connectivity, 17-inch alloys.
- Curvv 1.2T Accomplished S DCA (R519,900) – range-topper with panoramic sunroof, 18-inch alloys, JBL sound system with subwoofer, and premium safety technology.
All models include a five-year/125,000km warranty and a three-year/45,000km service plan, reaffirming Tata’s commitment to long-term value.
The Future, Now
“The Curvv is our boldest expression of design yet,” says Martin Uhlarik, Global Head of Design at Tata Motors. “Its coupé-inspired silhouette, combined with high-end finishes and advanced technology, delivers a new level of sophistication and performance in the SUV space.”
The Tata Curvv arrives not just as a new product but as a statement of intent – a futuristic SUV-coupé that makes luxury, performance, and innovation accessible to style-conscious South Africans.
With its competitive price positioning, striking design, and feature-rich package, the Tata Curvv is set to redefine expectations in the compact SUV segment.
