The 2024 Festival of Motoring (FOM), taking place from August 30 to September 1 at the iconic Kyalami International Grand Prix Circuit in Midrand, Gauteng, promises to be an automotive extravaganza like no other. Suzuki, a brand synonymous with versatility and adventure, is gearing up to make a significant impact with its presence at this year’s event. With five expansive display areas strategically positioned across the Kyalami complex, Suzuki is set to showcase a wide range of vehicles, from compact cars to powerful motorcycles, offering something for everyone.
Suzuki’s main hub will be located in the Main Pits, where visitors can explore the latest models, including the Grand Vitara, the 5-door Suzuki Jimny, the XL6, and the Fronx. Among these, the highly anticipated all-new Suzuki Swift will make its debut, boasting a complete redesign from top to bottom, with a sporty new look and advanced safety features that set a new benchmark in the compact car segment. Visitors to the Main Pits will also have the chance to register for an exhilarating track drive with a professional driver in one of Suzuki’s flagship models, including the Swift Sport, renowned for its outstanding performance at the Simola Hill Climb.
Adjacent to the Main Pits, the Upper Pit display area will be home to the Swift Zone, a unique exhibition dedicated to the evolution of the Suzuki Swift. Here, enthusiasts can take a nostalgic journey through the history of this beloved model and witness how its design and engineering have evolved over the years, culminating in the latest iteration of the Swift.
Suzuki Motorcycles will also have a strong presence at the FOM, with a dedicated display area showcasing the latest two-wheelers. The spotlight will be on the new Suzuki GSX-S1000 GX, a semi-naked Extreme Sport crossover bike that has been turning heads since its debut at the Simola Hill Climb. Powered by an engine derived from the legendary GSX-R1000 Super Sports motorcycle, the GSX-S1000 GX is packed with advanced electronic features, including ride-by-wire throttle, motion-tracking braking system, and Active Damping Control, making it a formidable contender in its class.

The Yellow Zone at Kyalami will host the handling track and display platforms, where Suzuki will offer visitors a unique self-drive experience. Enthusiasts can get behind the wheel of their favorite Suzuki models and test their capabilities on a specially designed handling track. This is a rare opportunity to experience firsthand the agility and performance that Suzuki vehicles are known for.
For off-road aficionados, the Blue Zone will feature the legendary Suzuki Jimny in both three-door and five-door configurations. Visitors can take these rugged vehicles for a spin on the challenging off-road course, experiencing their unparalleled off-road prowess in real-world conditions.
Suzuki’s commitment to making mobility, fun, and adventure accessible to all is evident in its comprehensive and engaging presence at the 2024 Festival of Motoring. “There is no event that can match the fun and eye candy of the FOM. If you are in Gauteng and have time to spare, we invite you to Kyalami to come and experience this wonderful world of cars and bikes.
