Visitors to this year’s AMID Motorcycle and Quad Lifestyle Expo can expect a strong Suzuki presence. The annual event, held under the auspices of the Association of Motorcycle Importers and Distributors (AMID), is South Africa’s most important motorcycle and quad showcase, and also incorporates the Johannesburg Boat Show.

The Suzuki motorcycle division promises to offer visitors the most entertaining stand at the expo, with a host of interactive activities that includes games and some innovative photo opportunities.

AMID show regulars will find the Suzuki motorcycle stand in its now customary position directly opposite the main Hall 5 entrance, against the far wall – but for first-timers, there will be plenty of eye-catching branding to lead them to where the Suzuki action is.

Visitors can expect giveaways, Xbox game consoles and some clever photo opportunities, including posing on a superbike as if you are racing, and on dual-purpose motorcycle.

While these activities, as well as being able to view the full range of Suzuki motorcycle products in one location, will be reason enough to visit the stand, Suzuki Auto SA will make full use of the opportunity to announce what it is set to be the most exciting motorcycle industry news in many years.

The announcement will also serve to underscore Suzuki’s intention to continue strengthening its position in the local market.

But, as they say in the classics, that’s not all folks. Suzuki’s marine division will also be out in force at the Johannesburg Boat Show, which is hosted next door to the motorcycle expo, in Hall 6.

The Suzuki display will include a selection of the marque’s most popular outboard motors, ranging from the all-new DF30 and the DF60, DF90 and DF140 models, to the flagship DF300.

In addition to the Suzumar range of inflatables, visitors can take a closer look at an extensive array of boats. Among the brands and models represented will be Butt Cat, Mallards, Gamefish, Oracle, Ace Jazz, Infanta and Xpression.

Making their debut at the Boat Show will be the new Butt Cat 685 Centre Console, as well as the new 17ft Gamefish Mono Centre Console.

The Amid Motorcycle and Quad Lifestyle Expo, incorporating the Johannesburg Boat Show, runs from 8 to 10 August at Nasrec’s Johannesburg Expo Centre. Opening times are 09h00 to 18h00 on Friday and Saturday, and 09h00 to 17h00 on Sunday.

Entrance tickets cost R80 for adults, and R40 for children between 12 and 16 years. Kids under 12 get in for free.
