October was a month of treats for Suzuki Auto South Africa, with record-breaking sales and no tricks in sight. Riding a wave of growing consumer confidence and demand, the Japanese carmaker set a new overall sales milestone, further cementing its stronghold in the South African automotive market.
According to the latest figures from industry body naamsa, Suzuki sold 6,890 passenger and light commercial vehicles last month, surpassing its previous August record of 6,534 units by 356 vehicles. Notably, this marks the fourth consecutive month in which the brand has exceeded 6,000 units.
Dealer sales contributed 4,842 vehicles, while government, rental, and fleet customers added 2,048 units, beating January’s previous record by 183 vehicles. This robust performance reinforces Suzuki’s position as South Africa’s second-best-selling manufacturer, a rank it has maintained consistently throughout 2025.
Among Suzuki’s 16-model lineup, the fourth-generation Swift hatchback led the charge with 2,377 units sold. The Fronx crossover SUV followed with 1,369 units, then the Baleno hatchback at 596, the Ertiga MPV at 521, and the Dzire sedan contributing 409 units to the monthly tally.

Henno Havenga, GM of Auto Sales and Marketing at Suzuki Auto South Africa, expressed his excitement:
“We are absolutely thrilled to set a new monthly sales record this October, and I want to thank every customer who chose Suzuki for their journey. From our best-selling Swift to our versatile commercial and SUV lineup, every model has played a part in this achievement. I also want to extend my sincere gratitude to our dedicated dealer network – their passion and commitment to service excellence make milestones like this possible.”
Havenga added that the brand remains focused on meeting the diverse needs of South African motorists, maintaining Suzuki’s reputation for reliability, quality, and value.
“With the final stages of 2025 ahead of us, we are more motivated than ever to finish the year strong and continue bringing exceptional Suzuki experiences to motorists across South Africa.”
October’s record-breaking results highlight not just the popularity of Suzuki’s models, but also the brand’s ongoing commitment to excellence in service and customer satisfaction, ensuring that the momentum continues well into the year-end.
