In a bold move that underscores its surging momentum in the South African market, Suzuki Auto South Africa has officially commenced construction on a brand-new head office and distribution centre at Longlake Logistics Park in Gauteng. The announcement, made during a ceremonial sod-turning event on 21 May, marks a defining chapter in the brand’s ongoing success story — one that spans an impressive 17 consecutive years of sales growth.

This strategic investment, undertaken in partnership with leading real estate developer Fortress, not only reinforces Suzuki’s long-term commitment to South Africa but also reflects the brand’s need to accommodate a rapidly expanding footprint. As Suzuki continues to capture increasing market share and establish itself as a key player in the automotive sector, the new development sets the stage for streamlined operations, elevated logistics capabilities, and an enhanced working environment for its growing team.

Purpose-Built for Progress

Relocating from its current base in Linbro Business Park, Suzuki Auto SA will move into a custom-designed 24,507m² facility, tailored to meet the brand’s evolving operational demands. The site comprises 2,900m² of contemporary office space and an expansive 19,100m² warehouse, which will serve as the backbone of the company’s national distribution network.

Designed with functionality and future-readiness at its core, the facility will boast a 15-metre clear height warehouse for efficient vertical storage, generous yard space, and streamlined vehicle access — all vital features for ensuring agility and efficiency across Suzuki’s logistics operations.

“We set out to deliver more than just warehouse space for Suzuki,” says Marguerite Oosthuizen, Leasing Consultant at Fortress. “It was about creating a tailored, future-focused facility that embodies the brand, supports its people, and enables bold, sustainable growth.”

Built for the People Driving Suzuki Forward

Beyond its cutting-edge logistics infrastructure, the development also places strong emphasis on Suzuki’s people-first culture. The site will include boardrooms, a fully-equipped training centre, a workshop, and a 100-seater canteen, providing a modern, collaborative space that nurtures innovation, learning, and connection.

“This move marks a significant chapter in our journey,” notes Berto van der Lith, Vice President and CFO of Suzuki Auto South Africa. “Our new headquarters will allow for further improvements in our current operations and support the growth we foresee in the coming years. Suzuki is proud to partner with Fortress, whose team has demonstrated deep insight and commitment to our needs. Onward and upward, we’re counting down the days until we can move in.”

A Milestone in a Long-Term Vision

Scheduled for completion by mid-2026, the new facility not only reflects Suzuki’s confidence in the local market but also symbolises a forward-looking approach to sustainable business growth. From high-performance infrastructure to employee-centric design, every aspect of the build has been curated to align with the company’s core values and long-term ambitions.

As Suzuki continues to ride a wave of market expansion in South Africa, this latest investment sends a clear message: the brand is here for the long haul, and it’s building the future from the ground up — one strategic milestone at a time.
