Excitement is set to reach fever pitch as TOYOTA GAZOO Racing South Africa (TGRSA) gears up for Round 4 of the 2024 South African Touring Car Championship (SATC) at the Aldo Scribante Raceway in Gqeberha this weekend. The event, a highlight of the National Extreme Festival, promises thrilling action and fierce competition against the picturesque backdrop of the Eastern Cape.

TGRSA will deploy its formidable trio of drivers—Saood Variawa, Nathi Msimanga, and Michael van Rooyen—each poised to capitalize on their strong form and secure vital championship points. Saood Variawa, currently ranked fourth with 51 points, is determined to narrow the gap to the frontrunners. Meanwhile, Michael van Rooyen, holding third place with 58 points, and Nathi Msimanga, positioned sixth with 40 points, are equally focused on achieving podium finishes. Toyota leads the manufacturer’s championship, holding a ten-point advantage over BMW.

The technical layout and challenging corners of the Aldo Scribante Raceway will provide a rigorous test of skill and strategy for the drivers. The weekend’s schedule includes practice sessions on Friday, followed by qualifying and two race heats on Saturday, promising intense battles for supremacy on the track.

Adding to the excitement, Sa’aad Variawa will take over the TGRSA SupaStarlet from Bradley Liebenberg starting this round, marking a significant shift in dynamics for the SupaCup Championship. Liebenberg, now racing under the Bucketlist Racing banner with a similar car, remains a formidable contender despite facing challenges in earlier rounds. The concurrent SupaCup races are set to heighten the weekend’s spectacle.
