Subaru XV

Subaru is enjoying a great start to 2012 with sales up 86.6 per cent during February when compared with 2011.

Subaru’s all new XV compact crossover, which reached the dealers at the start of February has proved an instant hit, with the company’s 60 strong dealer network reporting high levels of interest in the new model. The February rise follows a 24 per cent climb in sales during January.

Every XV is equipped with two core Subaru technologies – Symmetrical All-Wheel Drive and a Boxer engine – ensuring that this new vehicle feels both engaging and incredibly safe to drive, in all conditions.  Official results show the XV to be the safest car in its segment with a five-star EuroNCAP rating and the highest child protection score of any car in the UK.

XV combines style and functionality with generous levels of standard-fit equipment, making it more than a match for its established compact crossover rivals.  Priced from £21,295, the 11-model XV range offers three equipment levels – S, SE and SE Lux Premium – a choice of 114ps 1.6 and 150ps 2.0-litre petrol and a 2.0-litre diesel engine that produces 147ps and 350Nm, with five and six-speed manual or a six-speed CVT automatic transmission, depending on model.

Most comprehensive aftercare package in UK

Also aiding Subaru’s uplift in sales is the carmaker’s new three-year ETCo programme, the most comprehensive three-year aftercare package currently on offer to motorists in the UK, offering a host of potential benefits worth over £7,000, free-of-charge.

ETCo comprises 11 different elements, all designed to make running and owning a new Subaru easier and more beneficial than ever before.  The comprehensive package includes minor dent and scratch repairs, alloy wheel repairs, monthly wash ‘n’ vac, lost key replacement, and service collection and delivery.

“These encouraging early sales results for the Subaru XV confirm that the latest addition to our product line-up is set to establish itself as one of the most capable and best-value-for-money compact crossovers currently available,” comments Kenyon Neads, Marketing Director at Subaru UK. “The XV’s early popularity and the introduction of our unrivalled Subaru ETCo aftercare package give us tremendous confidence that 2012 is going to be a good year for our brand, our dealers and our customers,” adds Neads.

Eagerly awaited 2+2 coupe

On sale in the UK this summer, Subaru’s sensational all-new BRZ 2+2 coupe is expected to bring more good news. Designed as a pure driver’s car and powered by a 200ps 2.0-litre Boxer engine in a lightweight, rear-wheel drive chassis, the BRZ has already generated significant levels of interest at dealerships, with customers registering their details even before pricing has been confirmed.
