The Association of Motorcycle Importers and Distributors (AMiD) show at Expo Centre, Nasrec, on August 24-26 promises to be the biggest and best of these official showcases of the motorcycle, scooter and ATV products available on the local market.

South-Africa Motorcycle Show

There will be a host of new model launches as well as comprehensive displays of the myriad of other products on offer, while outdoor activations will include world-class stunt riding, rider training and test rides on some of the scooters and small bikes.

“We see the opportunity to stage our show at South Africa’s premier exhibition venue as a benefit for both our visitors and our member companies,” said national director of AMiD. Réhann Coetzee.

“The fact that a huge boat show is to be co-located on the site at the same time will make Expo Centre a popular destination for not only boat and motorcycle enthusiasts, but also for those with interests in the outdoors and lifestyle activities.”

AMiD has staged shows at a number of venues in Gauteng over the years, but this will be the first time the association will stage an exhibition at Expo Centre that is not linked to an event such as the Johannesburg International Motor Show or Auto Africa.

“The demand for motorcycles for leisure activities is growing, while scooters are attracting more and more commuter buyers,” explained Réhann Coetzee. “In addition, an importer of Chinese- -sourced motorcycles, scooters and quads has joined AMID, which makes our organisation far more representative than in the past.”

Visitors to the show will stand a chance of winning a host of prizes in competitions, including a KTM Duke 125 valued at R40 000 and two Big Boy Pulse 150 scooters that cost almost R8 000 each.

Among the exhibitors at the three-day show will be:  Honda, BMW, KTM, Suzuki, Yamaha, Kawasaki, Triumph, Moto Guzzi, Aprilia, Husqvarna,  Big Boy Scooters, SYM, Husaberg, Polaris, CanAm, Lin Hai, Harley-Davidson, Royal Enfield,  Puzey, Sidecar Africa and Benelli.

In addition there will be a host of service providers to the motorcycles, scooter and ATV fraternity in terms of accessory suppliers, training academies, trailer builders, clothing, motorcycle and quad magazines.

One R60 ticket will provide entry to three shows – the AMiD Motorcycle Lifestyle Show, the Johannesburg Boat Show and the Outdoor Lifestyle Show. Gates will open at 09:00 and close at 18:00.
