Milton Keynes, UK – 21 August 2025 – smart UK has partnered with leading creative arts charity, Create, to reveal a bespoke art car livery inspired by the brand’s guiding ethos, Open Your Mind. The project not only reflects smart’s commitment to individuality and inclusivity but also shines a spotlight on the transformative impact of creativity in supporting wellbeing and empowerment.
Create, the UK’s foremost charity dedicated to reducing isolation and enhancing lives through the creative arts, works with children and adults facing challenges. With funding from smart, the organisation hosted a series of nationwide workshops earlier this year, where participants explored painting, drawing and collaging under the guidance of Create’s professional artists.
Each workshop was built around the theme Open Your Mind, encouraging individuals to express themselves freely while developing skills, building connections and nurturing confidence. The resulting artworks were then combined into a striking, one-of-a-kind livery, now showcased on the award-winning smart #1 and #3 models.

Jason Allbutt, CEO of smart UK, commented:
“Open Your Mind is far more than a slogan for smart – it’s a philosophy that shapes our approach to design, customer experience and the wider role we play in society. By collaborating with Create, we’re celebrating individuality and demonstrating the powerful role creativity plays in fostering inclusivity and self-expression. The smart x Create livery is a moving testament to artistic freedom and the positive impact of the creative process.”
Nicky Goulder MBE, Founding CEO of Create, added:
“Our partnership with smart is a celebration of creativity in its purest form. Every brushstroke and collage element represents the vision and passion of participants in our workshops. This project highlights how creativity brings people together, builds confidence and inspires growth. The theme Open Your Mind perfectly captures this journey of discovery, connection and empowerment.”
The smart x Create art cars will make their public debut at CarFest from 22–24 August 2025, offering visitors the chance to see the collaborative artworks up close. While not available for sale, the cars serve as a lasting symbol of the creative process and the impact of shared expression.
