Mladá Boleslav, September 8, 2025 – Škoda has unveiled the Vision O, a concept that reimagines the estate car for the electrified age while carrying forward a legacy of European leadership in the segment. Rooted in the brand’s Modern Solid design language, Vision O introduces a holistic, customer-first philosophy: developed entirely from the inside out, with every detail shaped around the driver and passengers.
With this forward-looking study, Škoda not only pays tribute to the enduring success of the Octavia and Superb Estate – with more than 3.6 million units sold to date – but also signals the brand’s ambition to redefine practicality, sustainability, and technological innovation for the decade ahead.
Inside-Out Design: Where Customers Come First
For the first time, Škoda has designed a car from the inside out, ensuring the interior sets the tone for every other design decision. The result is a minimalist yet richly functional cabin offering more than 650 litres of luggage capacity and a raft of Simply Clever features, from a portable Bluetooth speaker to a fully integrated fridge.
The centrepiece is the Škoda Horizon Display, a 1.2-metre-wide digital panel spanning the dashboard, delivering essential information to both driver and passenger with intuitive clarity. Complementing it, a vertically oriented central screen ensures seamless navigation between functions, while haptic dial controls provide tactile reassurance.
Škoda’s Bio-Adaptive Lighting subtly adjusts to natural light cycles, enhancing passenger well-being. The atmosphere is further refined by achromatic interior aesthetics, tailored materials, and AI-driven personalisation through Škoda’s digital assistant, Laura.
Oliver Stefani, Head of Design, summed it up: “We built Vision O on customer experiences. In a world of noise and complexity, simplicity is the ultimate luxury – and Vision O delivers clarity and calmness in both design and functionality.”
Sustainability Woven into Every Detail
The Vision O name is itself a nod to circularity – a design ethos that considers the entire lifecycle of a vehicle. From waste-free production processes to the use of recycled and plant-based materials, Vision O embodies Škoda’s commitment to reducing environmental impact without sacrificing quality or aesthetics.
Highlights include:
- Recycled PES flatknit seat fabrics tailored to fit perfectly.
- A 3D-printed Ultrasint TPU headrest, lightweight, recyclable, and engineered for comfort.
- Ultrasuede NU, composed of 65% plant-based content, used for dashboards and seating.
- Nabore recycled leather flooring, crafted from upcycled production scraps.
Karsten Schnake, Board Member for Procurement, emphasised: “With Vision O, we’ve worked on building a closed-loop system that minimises environmental impact – from sourcing and manufacturing to recycling.”
Advanced Technology and Intelligent Assistance
The Vision O showcases Škoda’s vision for intelligent mobility. Equipped with autonomous driving capabilities, the car can handle all driving tasks under specific conditions, shifting seamlessly into Tranquil Mode when passengers wish to relax. This setting reconfigures seating, adjusts lighting, and creates a calming in-car environment.
At the heart of the digital ecosystem is Laura, Škoda’s AI-powered personal assistant. More than a voice interface, Laura guides passengers with contextual suggestions, takes meeting notes, tells stories to children, and integrates across devices via the upcoming Vision O app. Beyond the vehicle, the app enables customisation of the Horizon Display, remote window tinting, and even AI-assisted storage management.
Meanwhile, the MyŠkoda app is being upgraded with Google Gemini-powered route planning, making it easier than ever to map journeys with tailored charging stops, dining recommendations, or shopping breaks.

Exterior Evolution: The Modern Solid Redefined
Vision O translates Škoda’s evolving Modern Solid philosophy into a bold and aerodynamic form. The car’s Tech-loop face mask, illuminated Škoda logo, and Cyber Lights establish a strong visual identity. Every design feature serves a purpose: retractable door handles, active jalousie cooling vents, and hood ventilation all enhance airflow, extending range and efficiency.
The lighting concept goes further, adapting dynamically to autonomous driving modes, signalling intentions clearly to other road users. The body, meanwhile, features a shimmering mica pearl paint that shifts from sand beige to blue, complemented by black accents and a panoramic roof for an unmistakable presence.
Johannes Neft, Board Member for Technical Development, noted: “With Vision O, form follows function. Aerodynamics, lighting, and structure work in harmony to deliver efficiency, sustainability, and a distinctive design signature.”
A Legacy Reinforced
Škoda has been Europe’s estate segment leader since 2016, thanks to the enduring popularity of the Octavia and Superb Estate. The Vision O builds on this legacy, embodying the practicality, versatility, and user-centred innovation that customers expect – while preparing the segment for an electrified and sustainable future.
Martin Jahn, Board Member for Sales and Marketing, put it simply: “The Vision O is not just a continuation of our estate success story – it’s a bold step forward, marrying tradition with the demands of tomorrow.”
Looking Ahead
Based on a future Volkswagen Group platform, the production version of Vision O is planned for the next decade. When it arrives, it will carry the weight of Škoda’s estate heritage while charting a new course – one where sustainability, AI, and customer-first design redefine what an estate can be.
With Vision O, Škoda has delivered more than a concept: it has offered a clear roadmap of how estates can remain relevant, desirable, and practical in the electrified era.
