Milton Keynes, 14 July 2025 – In a landmark moment for sustainable fleet mobility, Škoda UK has introduced the all-new Enyaq Cargo, the brand’s first fully electric light commercial vehicle (LCV). Developed in collaboration with engineering specialists Strongs Plastic Products Ltd, the Enyaq Cargo is now available to fleet customers via Škoda’s national retail network and Area Fleet Managers.
Officially registered from new as an LCV with the Driver and Vehicle Standards Agency (DVSA), the Enyaq Cargo meets all the regulatory standards required for commercial operation. Originally conceived as a bespoke project for National Grid Energy Distribution (NGED) in 2024, the model has evolved into a strategic offering aimed at supporting UK businesses with their decarbonisation goals.
NGED, one of the UK’s largest electric vehicle operators, currently runs over 300 electric vans and 600 electric company cars, and has already taken delivery of 70 Enyaq Cargo units. This significant deployment forms part of its ongoing commitment to replacing internal combustion vehicles with zero-emission alternatives.
A Purpose-Built Solution for Fleet Operators
The Enyaq Cargo is based on the highly regarded Enyaq 85 and Enyaq 85x models. These donor vehicles bring long-range, high-efficiency powertrains and advanced drivetrain technology into the commercial segment. The 85x variant, equipped with all-wheel drive, offers enhanced versatility for operators requiring confident performance in all weather and terrain conditions.
Inside, the transformation is comprehensive. The rear seats are removed and replaced with a custom-designed load area made from high-strength, lightweight plastic. This innovative construction maintains structural integrity while maximising cargo capacity and efficiency. A robust bulkhead separates the load bay from the cabin, ensuring driver safety and compliance with LCV standards.
Strongs Plastic Products Ltd worked closely with Škoda UK and the DVSA throughout the development process to deliver a fully certified LCV conversion. The result is a practical, flexible vehicle tailored to meet the diverse requirements of today’s business operators—from utilities and infrastructure to service and delivery sectors.

Zero Emissions, Maximum Efficiency
The Enyaq Cargo retains the impressive electric range capabilities of its passenger siblings. The Enyaq 85 offers up to 359 miles (WLTP combined), while the 85x variant achieves 332 miles on a single charge. Both models support DC rapid charging, with the 85x capable of charging at up to 175 kW, allowing a 10–80% top-up in just 28 minutes.
These long-range credentials and fast-charging capabilities make the Enyaq Cargo a compelling alternative to diesel-powered vans—eliminating range anxiety while supporting sustainable transport strategies.
Exclusively for Fleet Customers
While Škoda models have occasionally been adapted for commercial use in the past, the Enyaq Cargo marks a first for the brand: a factory-supported, battery-electric LCV conversion. The model is not available to retail buyers, reinforcing its positioning as a tailored solution for fleets seeking to meet environmental targets without compromising on practicality or performance.
Pricing for the Enyaq Cargo starts at £44,310 OTR for the Enyaq Edition 85, with conversion costs beginning at £1,815 + VAT. Final pricing will depend on customer-specific requirements and configurations.
A Forward-Thinking Step for Škoda
With the Enyaq Cargo, Škoda is stepping firmly into the commercial EV space, offering fleet customers a future-ready solution built on the proven foundations of the Enyaq SUV range. As the demand for cleaner, more efficient transport grows, the Cargo is a timely and intelligent answer to one of the fleet sector’s most pressing challenges.
