Škoda Fleet has unveiled a new trim and engine combination for the second-generation Kodiaq, specifically designed for emergency services use. The Kodiaq SE 2.0 TDI DSG 193 PS 4×4 has officially passed the stringent Metropolitan Police brake test, confirming its suitability for operational deployment.
For more than 20 years, Škoda has been a trusted partner to the UK’s emergency services, supplying vehicles that combine reliability, performance, and value. From rapid response units to traffic patrols, the brand has become a mainstay across police, ambulance, and fire fleets. The new Kodiaq builds on this legacy, offering emergency services a vehicle that blends practicality, safety, and efficiency.
Following extensive evaluation, the five-seat SE diesel model has gained full approval for emergency fleet use. As part of the assessment, the Kodiaq successfully completed the demanding Met Police Brake Test, which simulates repeated high-speed stops to ensure components can withstand real-world emergency conditions. This endorsement not only secures the vehicle’s adoption by the UK’s largest police service but also reinforces Škoda’s reputation for producing fleet-ready vehicles.

The Kodiaq SE also delivers outstanding practicality. With one of the largest boot capacities in its class, it offers 910 litres with the rear seats in place, expanding to 2,105 litres when folded. Drivers benefit from a host of features aimed at enhancing comfort and safety, including tri-zone climate control, heated front seats, a rear-view camera, Blindspot Detection, and Front Assist with pedestrian, cyclist, and vehicle braking intervention.
Škoda’s partnership with the UK emergency services spans more than two decades. The Octavia has long been valued for its performance and low operating costs, while the Superb became a preferred choice for motorway patrols and specialist units. More recently, the Kodiaq and Enyaq have introduced SUV versatility and electrified powertrains to the fleet, performing reliably across both urban and rural environments.
Škoda Fleet provides a comprehensive ‘one-stop shop’ for emergency services, including vehicle supply, bespoke conversions, maintenance, service, and breakdown support, ensuring fleet managers can focus on operational readiness with complete confidence.
