Milton Keynes, 2 September 2025 – Škoda is delivering double value to UK drivers with the introduction of a new long-range Elroq model and confirmation that both Elroq and selected Enyaq models now qualify for the UK Government’s Electric Car Grant (ECG).
The award-winning Elroq SE L 85 joins the brand’s compact SUV range, bringing customers access to Škoda’s longest-range battery at a more affordable price point. Powered by an 82kWh (77kWh usable) battery, the SE L 85 delivers up to 355 miles (WLTP combined) of all-electric driving – making it one of the most capable compact SUVs in its class.
This latest addition ensures buyers can enjoy Škoda’s hallmark value and practicality without compromising on performance or range. Priced from £35,560 OTR (including the £1,500 ECG discount), the Elroq SE L 85 bridges the gap between efficiency and long-distance capability.
Driving Value with the Electric Car Grant
From today, customers purchasing eligible Elroq or Enyaq models will automatically benefit from the £1,500 Band 2 Government-backed ECG discount. Unlike previous incentive schemes, no paperwork is required – the saving is applied instantly at the point of purchase.
The grant lowers the entry price of the Elroq SE 50 to £30,210 OTR, making Škoda’s award-winning EV line-up more accessible to UK households. Most Elroq trims qualify for the grant, with the sole exception of the high-performance Elroq vRS.
The recently refreshed Enyaq also joins the list of qualifying models, further strengthening Škoda’s all-electric offering in the UK. Updated earlier this year with sharper styling and improved efficiency, the Enyaq remains the brand’s flagship BEV, renowned for its space, comfort, and value.
A Rapidly Growing Success Story
Launched earlier this year, the Elroq has quickly become a star performer in the UK’s fast-growing EV sector. Built on the Volkswagen Group’s proven MEB platform, the compact SUV blends Škoda’s new Modern Solid design language with impressive usability.
In July 2025, the Elroq became the best-selling BEV in the UK and was named Auto Express Car of the Year, cementing its reputation as a game-changing model in one of the industry’s most competitive segments. With fast charging times of under 28 minutes on a rapid DC charger and ranges of up to 356 miles (Elroq Edition 85), the Elroq delivers capability and confidence for everyday use.

Sustainability at the Core
To qualify for the ECG, Škoda met stringent criteria relating to environmental performance – an area where the brand already leads by example. Sustainability is embedded in Škoda’s transformation strategy, from using innovative and recycled materials to adopting circular economy principles throughout its supply chain.
Commenting on the announcement, Matthew Bowden, Director of Škoda UK, said:
“We are delighted to confirm that our award-winning models qualify for the Government’s Electric Car Grant. At Škoda, our commitment has always been to put our customers at the heart of everything we do – designing cars that meet their evolving needs and expectations. This initiative allows even more people to experience our innovative all-electric range, and reflects our ongoing journey towards becoming a more sustainable brand.”
