Mladá Boleslav, 7 September 2025 – Škoda Auto has lifted the curtain on its latest concept, the Epiq show car, offering a clear preview of the brand’s upcoming all-electric city SUV crossover due to enter production in 2026. With a minimalist yet confident design, intelligent practicality, and a price point expected to rival its ICE sibling, the Kamiq, the Epiq promises to become a cornerstone of Škoda’s expanding electric portfolio.
The debut at the Volkswagen Group media workshop ahead of the IAA in Munich marked a significant milestone not only for Škoda, but also for the Electric Urban Car Family (EUCF), a cross-brand initiative within Volkswagen’s Brand Group Core (BGC) aimed at making electric mobility more accessible.
Klaus Zellmer, CEO of Škoda Auto, summed up the ambition: “The Epiq show car offers a concrete glimpse into the next addition to Škoda’s successful all-electric family. It embodies the essence of Škoda: modern solid design, a spacious interior within a compact footprint, user-friendly, intuitive digital interfaces, and Simply Clever details that ensure a seamless experience – and above all – at an attractive price point.”
Everyday Practicality, Electrified
At just 4.1 metres in length, the Epiq blends the manoeuvrability of a compact city car with the space and functionality of an SUV. Despite its modest footprint, it comfortably seats five passengers and boasts an impressive 475-litre boot, putting it at the top of its class for everyday practicality.
Equipped with a range of up to 264 miles (425 km), the Epiq makes light work of both daily commutes and longer weekend trips. By aligning its expected entry price with that of the Kamiq, Škoda underscores its mission to make electric driving a realistic choice for mainstream buyers rather than a premium luxury.
Modern Solid: The New Face of Škoda
The Epiq is the first model to fully showcase Škoda’s Modern Solid design language—a philosophy that emphasises robustness, authenticity, and functionality. Its Cashmere matt paint is offset by a gloss black Tech-Deck Face, framed with T-shaped LED daytime running lights and bold turn indicators.
The lower-mounted headlights enhance the wide stance of the front, while the Cosmo grey spoiler and sculpted tornado line give the body muscular shoulders and a sense of contemporary dynamism. The effect is one of confidence without ostentation—true to Škoda’s pragmatic yet forward-looking identity.

A Cabin Built Around Life
Step inside, and the philosophy continues. The minimalist interior focuses on everyday usability, with ample storage options, hidden underfloor compartments, and the kind of Simply Clever features that have become Škoda hallmarks—bag hooks, fastening points, and intuitive stowage solutions.
Digital convenience takes centre stage under Škoda’s Mobile First approach. Wireless phone charging and seamless connectivity sit alongside physical buttons and haptic scroll wheels, striking a balance between modern technology and tactile usability. The result is an environment that feels equally suited to families, commuters, and lifestyle-oriented drivers.
A European Joint Effort
The Škoda Epiq is more than a design exercise—it is part of a wider strategy within Volkswagen’s Electric Urban Car Family. Production will take place at the Volkswagen Navarra plant in Spain, alongside other EUCF models from the BGC’s brands.
This joint initiative underscores Volkswagen Group’s mission to democratise electric mobility, with the rollout of four affordable electric models across three brands. The Epiq is set to play a central role in this vision, making Škoda’s brand of practical innovation accessible to a broader audience.
Looking Ahead
The production version of the Škoda Epiq will make its world premiere in mid-2026, but the show car already paints a clear picture of what to expect: a bold, minimalist city SUV crossover that prioritises practicality, affordability, and intelligent design.
As electrification accelerates across Europe and beyond, the Epiq positions Škoda as a brand determined not just to participate in the transition, but to lead it—by delivering electric vehicles that are appealing, functional, and within reach.
