Škoda Auto has reached a major milestone in its electric mobility journey, building the 100,000th Elroq compact SUV less than a year after production began. The landmark vehicle — a striking Elroq vRS finished in Hyper Green — rolled off the line at the brand’s Mladá Boleslav plant, underscoring both the model’s popularity and the strength of Škoda’s flexible manufacturing strategy.

A High-Volume Success Built on a Highly Flexible Line

The Elroq is the first series model to adopt Škoda’s Modern Solid design language, and it’s assembled on one of the company’s most adaptable production lines. At Mladá Boleslav, Škoda builds the battery-electric Elroq and Enyaq alongside the MQB-based Octavia, giving the manufacturer the ability to shift output quickly between BEV and ICE models as customer demand fluctuates.

That agility has paid off. With production running at full speed, the Elroq has rapidly become a cornerstone of Škoda’s European portfolio, accounting for 12% of UK sales year-to-date.

Andreas Dick, Škoda Auto Board Member for Production and Logistics, emphasises the significance of this achievement:
“Producing 100,000 Elroqs in under a year of series production is a major achievement for the whole team. It also reflects rigorous preparation and targeted adaptations to our production processes. From the outset, we’ve fully leveraged the flexibility to build battery-electric and ICE vehicles on the same line. The result is clear: the tremendous response from customers highlights the excellent manufacturing quality of cars ‘made in Mladá Boleslav’.”

Europe’s Second Best-Selling BEV in 2025

Demand for the Elroq has surged since its market introduction. In the first three quarters of 2025, Škoda delivered nearly 120,000 battery-electric vehicles worldwide, with the Elroq ranking second among Europe’s best-selling BEVs and the Enyaq securing sixth place.

The Elroq is also the top-selling electric vehicle in several countries — including the Czech Republic, Denmark, and Slovakia — and consistently finishes among the top three in Austria, the Netherlands and Switzerland.

Standout Performance in Germany

Germany, Škoda’s largest single market, continues to be a focal point of the Elroq’s success. In October alone, it became the country’s best-selling electric vehicle with 3,320 registrations, and it claimed Europe’s overall monthly BEV top spot in April, July and October.

Its strong sales are matched by widespread industry acclaim. Alongside winning the prestigious Red Dot Design Award, the Elroq was recently named ‘German Car of the Year 2026’. From an initial field of 80 contenders, a panel of 40 leading journalists selected five category winners before the Elroq triumphed in the final round. Judges highlighted its build quality, environmental performance, handling, drivetrain sophistication and standout value for money.

A Milestone That Signals More to Come

Reaching 100,000 units in under a year demonstrates both the confidence customers have in Škoda’s electric SUVs and the effectiveness of the brand’s flexible production strategy. As demand for the Elroq and Enyaq remains strong, Škoda’s Mladá Boleslav plant continues to play a central role in the company’s transition towards a more electrified future.
