Mladá Boleslav, 29 August 2025 – Škoda Auto is stepping off the tarmac and onto the trails as an official partner of the 2025 UCI Mountain Bike World Championships for the very first time. The prestigious multi-discipline event, organised by the Union Cycliste Internationale (UCI), will be staged from 30 August to 14 September across seven venues in Switzerland’s Valais canton. Over the two weeks, 27 world championship titles will be awarded in disciplines ranging from cross-country Olympic and marathon to downhill, enduro, e-enduro, and pump track.

Škoda is supplying the event organisers with 13 electrified vehicles and has designed the distinctive Škoda-branded ‘hot seat’ for downhill leaders. Fans will also encounter Škoda models displayed trackside, in fan zones, and within the expo area. With up to 100,000 spectators expected on-site and several million tuning in worldwide, the championship offers Škoda an unparalleled platform to showcase its commitment to mobility, adventure, and cycling culture.

“Cycling has been part of Škoda’s story for 130 years and it remains central to our DNA today,” says Martin Jahn, Škoda Auto Board Member for Sales and Marketing. “This partnership underlines our ambition to be the leading brand for active, functionally-minded customers who value freedom, exploration, and practical solutions.”

The opening weekend in Sion will set the tone with a thrilling downhill spectacle, a world-record attempt, and unique artistic performances. From there, the action shifts across six further Alpine destinations, including Zermatt and Crans-Montana, where spectators can enjoy Škoda hospitality, explore roof tent setups, or test-ride bikes from Czech manufacturers. The new Škoda Enyaq and Elroq will be among the highlight vehicles on display, while online, the brand’s WeLoveCycling.com platform will feature exclusive event coverage, interactive content, and competitions with prizes such as VIP tickets and a Škoda carbon gravel bike.

Škoda’s mountain biking debut complements its growing cycling portfolio. Earlier this year, the brand confirmed a partnership with the UCI Gravel World Championships in the Netherlands, alongside its long-standing support for elite road cycling. Škoda’s sponsorship portfolio already includes the Tour de France, Vuelta a España, Tour de France Femmes avec Zwift, La Vuelta Femenina, La Flèche Wallonne, and the historic Peace Race.

What began in 1895 as a bicycle workshop in Mladá Boleslav has evolved into one of Europe’s most progressive carmakers. By partnering with the UCI Mountain Bike World Championships, Škoda is bringing its heritage full circle, celebrating its cycling roots while showcasing a future defined by electrification, adventure, and active lifestyles.
