Milton Keynes, 06 January 2025: Škoda UK has capped off a landmark year with a record-breaking market share of 4.0%, marking a notable 0.3% increase from 2023. In a year where overall UK car registrations rose by just 2.6%, Škoda outpaced the competition, registering 78,601 cars in 2024 – a remarkable 12.3% increase over the previous year. The brand’s continued focus on innovation, backed by a portfolio that’s now 80% new or updated, has played a key role in this success.

Škoda’s SUV models were at the forefront of this growth, with the Karoq, Kodiaq, and Enyaq leading the way. The versatile Karoq saw a 9.0% increase in registrations, with 14,648 units sold, while the flagship seven-seater Kodiaq surged 31.2%, recording 12,447 registrations. The Kodiaq’s success is even more impressive considering it’s the first model in Škoda’s lineup to feature a plug-in hybrid (PHEV) drivetrain, offering up to 75 miles of pure electric driving range.

However, it was the all-electric Škoda Enyaq that truly stood out. With a staggering 43.6% rise in registrations over 2023, the Enyaq recorded its best year ever, with 11,841 units sold. This makes the Enyaq not just the brand’s most successful electric vehicle to date, but also the sixth best-selling electric vehicle in the UK in 2024. Its success reflects Škoda’s commitment to electrification and their strategic push to expand their EV offerings.

The Enyaq’s popularity is part of a broader trend, with Škoda’s SUV range dominating the UK market. The compact Kamiq also saw a healthy rise in demand, with 10,994 units registered – a 5.6% increase over 2023. With Škoda’s SUVs accounting for a significant portion of the brand’s registrations, it’s clear that the British consumer is embracing the combination of practicality, style, and sustainability that Škoda offers.

Skoda Achieves Record Market Share In The Uk With 12 3 Increase In Registrations For 2024

In addition to the strong performance in the SUV sector, Škoda’s mid-range models also enjoyed a healthy reception. The Škoda Octavia, a stalwart of the brand, saw an uptick of 3.5% in registrations, with 11,047 units sold. The model’s practicality and versatility were further enhanced in 2024 with a substantial update that included key design changes and a more powerful vRS performance variant. The Octavia estate, always a popular choice in the UK, accounted for 60% of Octavia registrations, reinforcing its status as the brand’s most practical offering.

The Škoda Superb and Scala models, while seeing some decline in registrations, remain important parts of the brand’s offering, with the former seeing a decrease of 22.6% and the latter dropping 25.7%. However, with Škoda’s continuing focus on innovation and the introduction of updated models, these declines are expected to be short-lived.

Škoda’s 2024 performance also saw the brand take a commanding position in the UK True Fleet market, achieving a stellar share of 4.7%. This is particularly impressive given the increasing number of new brands entering the UK market. Škoda’s success in the fleet sector reflects its strong offering of practical, reliable, and cost-effective vehicles that meet the needs of both business and individual customers.

Looking ahead to 2025, Škoda is poised to continue its upward trajectory. The upcoming launch of the all-new Elroq marks a significant step for the brand as it expands its all-electric offerings. Positioned below the Enyaq, the Elroq promises to be a game-changer in the compact electric SUV market, with a starting price of £31,500 and a WLTP driving range of up to 360 miles. Fast DC charging speeds of up to 175kW further enhance its appeal, making it a compelling option for those looking to make the switch to electric driving.

As Škoda continues to innovate and adapt to the evolving automotive landscape, it’s clear that the brand is well-positioned for another strong year ahead. With a solid foundation in the UK market and a lineup of models that blend performance, practicality, and sustainability, Škoda is primed to maintain its momentum and continue its growth in 2025 and beyond.
