LOS ANGELES – May 2, 2025 – The Porsche 911 Carrera Coupe Reimagined by Singer has been revealed, marking a new chapter for the California-based marque known for reimagining air-cooled Porsche 911s with unparalleled attention to detail. Inspired by the rare, wide-body Carrera “Super Sport” variants of the 1980s, this latest evolution is a tour de force of analogue driving emotion, modern engineering excellence, and nostalgic flair.

At the heart of the restoration is a spectacular, naturally aspirated 4.0-litre flat-six—developed by Singer with engineering support from Cosworth—that delivers a rhapsodic 420HP and a spine-tingling 8000+ rpm redline. Designed for exhilarating road and track use, it combines water-cooled cylinder heads with air-cooled cylinders, bringing together old-school character and contemporary capability.

“Our services reference the 1980s Carrera with Super Sport Equipment and celebrate the era with a vision for an ultimate, naturally aspirated G model 911, reimagined for the twenty-first century,” said Rob Dickinson, Singer’s Founder and Creative Director. “At its heart is a remarkable flat-six, bringing together our learnings from the last fifteen years.”

A Legacy Reborn: From Type 964 to New Heights

Every project begins with an original Porsche 911 (Type 964), which is then disassembled down to its monocoque chassis. This steel backbone—painstakingly assessed and fortified—is the canvas upon which Singer weaves its magic. In collaboration with Red Bull Advanced Technologies, structural reinforcement is applied to enhance rigidity and handling performance, resulting in a chassis that is both faithful to its roots and capable of supporting cutting-edge dynamics.

From there, the transformation continues with a lightweight carbon fibre body, sculpted to honour the wide-body silhouette of the original Carrera SSE while embracing modern aerodynamic and cooling enhancements. Front and rear fender intakes, a deep front splitter, and the choice between a speed-activated or fixed rear wing underscore Singer’s commitment to functional beauty.

Engineering Purity Meets Motorsport Pedigree

The crown jewel of the restoration is the reimagined engine—a naturally aspirated flat-six that represents a new era for Singer. Cosworth’s expertise helped deliver a four-valve-per-cylinder head, variable valve timing, and an entirely reengineered intake and exhaust system. This powerplant—Singer’s first naturally aspirated unit to feature water-cooled heads—reflects lessons learned from both the DLS and DLS Turbo programs.

Coupled to a six-speed manual gearbox, the engine provides a deeply engaging driving experience, with a titanium exhaust system unleashing a symphony that honours Hans Mezger’s original masterpiece. An optional raised gear shifter, complete with exposed linkages, celebrates mechanical precision in full view of the driver.

Dynamic Sophistication

Suspension development borrowed from Singer’s turbocharged services ensures the Carrera Coupe delivers poise and feedback across varied road surfaces. Four-way, remotely adjustable dampers with electronic damping control can be fine-tuned on the fly, while a nose lift system provides everyday usability.

Braking is equally formidable, with optional carbon ceramic discs concealed behind 18-inch centre-lock wheels, shod in high-performance Michelin Pilot Sport tyres. Drive modes—Road, Sport, Track, Off and Weather—tailor the electronic stability, ABS, and traction systems (developed with Bosch) to driver intent and road conditions.

The Interior: A Temple of Analogue Design

Inside, each car is a reflection of its owner’s imagination. The cockpit blends Singer’s trademark craftsmanship with elevated functionality, offering bespoke materials such as velvet corduroy or Interferenza cloth, stitched leather seams, and hand-built instrumentation that rivals high horology.

Despite the analogue focus, modern conveniences like air-conditioning, navigation, and CarPlay are seamlessly integrated, ensuring that the experience is as refined as it is exhilarating.

A Canvas for Personal Expression

As with all Porsche 911s reimagined by Singer, each car is tailored to its owner. Two examples showcased illustrate the diversity of expression available through Singer’s services:

  • Touring Focus: Painted in Celeste Passalacqua, with a speed-activated wing, white wheels, and a Mars Pink interior with sports seats trimmed in velvet corduroy.
  • Sports Focus: Finished in Giallo Segnale, featuring a fixed rear wing, aggressive splitter, auxiliary driving lights, and an interior in Black with Interferenza cloth, lightweight track seats, and a rear cross-brace.

Crafted for the Connoisseur

“We’re celebrating the heritage of the Porsche 911, both for those who admired these cars growing up and for a new generation discovering them afresh,” said Mazen Fawaz, Singer’s Chief Strategy Officer. “Each car restored by Singer is an analogue jewel—beautiful and captivating to drive above all else.”

With production limited to just 100 commissions, the Porsche 911 Carrera Coupe Reimagined by Singer is more than a machine—it is a tribute to timeless performance, iconic design, and the deeply personal bond between driver and car.
