According to Lionel Abbott, a historic automobile specialist at Silverstone Auctions, “We are honoured to be hosting our first ever sale at Autosport International and to be among the impressive exhibitors at the show.” Whether it’s a rally homologation landmark like the MG Metro 6R4 or even a 1960s Formula One vehicle like the Emeryson, the huge variety of automobiles on sale will undoubtedly delight vintage car lovers as well as motorsport and performance enthusiasts equally.

A 1961 Emeryson Formula 1 Climax FPF that was raced by Mike Spence and Jack Fairman in the early 1960s takes the lead in the lineup of competing vehicles on offer. It is valued between £180,000 and £225,000 because it is the only surviving Emeryson F1 vehicle today.

A 2010 BMW Z4 GT3 valued between £120,000 and £140,000 will join the Emeryson on the starting grid. The race-winning vehicle has raced for organizations including Ecurie Ecosse, Dorr Motorsport, and Barwell Motorsport. A 1965 Studebaker Lark Daytona 500, valued between £100,000 and £130,000, is welcomed in all the world’s most renowned competitions. Being the only racing Lark Daytona 500 in Europe, it has received five invitations to race at Goodwood over the past ten years and consistently achieves top finishes.

A handful of stunning contemporary super vehicles, including a 2005 McLaren Mercedes SLR with only 6,700 kilometres, will also be offered for auction during the sale. It is valued between £160,000 and £180,000 and is finished in Crystal Laurite Silver SLR with a Silver Arrows 300SL Red leather inside. Another low mileage McLaren, a 2012 MP4-12C with only 6,000 kilometers on it and an estimated value of £90,000 to £110,000, joins the SLR. A 2007 Lamborghini Gallardo Superleggera, one of just 618 vehicles made, is valued between £75,000 and £85,000. It is separate from the British automobiles. A 2006 Ferrari 599 GTB F1 Fiorano, which is attractively valued at £70,000 to £80,000, is parked next to this colorful Italian.

“This catalogue offers buyers not only the opportunity to own best of breed examples of truly iconic cars, but also the chance to compete at some of the most exclusive events, and better yet, in the very cars competed by some of motorsport’s all time legends. We’re confident that our global customer base, as well as the thousands of visitors at the show, will turn out to witness this very exciting auction,” concludes Lionel.
