Isuzu UK will be engaging with sports fans across the UK with the announcement of a nine-month sponsorship of  Sky Sports’ coverage of the 2014 Super League season.

Isuzu’s agreement with Sky Sports kicks off from this month and will include over 80 live matches throughout the season including Magic Weekend featuring all 14 teams in seven matches across one weekend, the play-offs and the Grand Final at at Old Trafford.

The partnership will see Isuzu idents feature during each of Sky’s 753 scheduled Super League broadcasts including weekly programmes ‘Boots ‘n’ All, Super League Back Chat’, Super League Full Time’ and ‘Super League Superstars’, as well as all repeat transmissions.

With the D-Max renowned as being one of the toughest pick-ups on the market, the partnership with Super League was considered the perfect fit. Sky Sports is active across multi-platform channels, allowing Isuzu to reach viewers on TV, mobile and tablet devices via Sky Go, On Demand, Now TV and sky sports.com.

Isuzu idents will also be seen on skysports.com and programming carried on Sky Sports mobile and SkyGo.

Haydn Davies, Group Marketing Director for Isuzu UK explained: “The Super League is growing in popularity across the UK with over four million viewers watching on Sky Sports in the last 12 months and as one of the toughest sports, it will be a great fit for the robust, do-it-all D-Max.

“We have plans to reach a much wider audience than we have done historically and our sponsorship of Sky’s Rugby Super League coverage provides an excellent platform to reach out nationwide. We have enjoyed significant Brand growth in the last couple of years and this latest initiative forms a key part of growth plans for the future.”

Isuzu UK markets the one vehicle, the D-Max pick-up and sold 4,112 vehicles in 2013 which was a record for the Japanese brand in the UK and represented a 50 per cent increase over 2012. The UK remains Isuzu’s largest market in Europe.
