Rolls-Royce Motor Cars has unveiled Spectre Bailey, a one-of-one commission celebrating the enduring bond between a cherished pet and its owners. Crafted for a long-standing couple based in the United States, this exceptional motor car is a testament to the artistry of Rolls-Royce Bespoke and the personal stories that inspire it.

From Goodwood to New York: A Collaboration of Care and Creativity

Curated through Private Office New York, an invitation-only space dedicated to Bespoke commissioning, Spectre Bailey exemplifies how Rolls-Royce transforms individual passion into automotive artistry. For the commissioning clients, lifelong animal lovers and car enthusiasts, Bailey—their Labrador-Golden Retriever mix—provided the central inspiration for a car that would immortalise the joy and companionship he brings to their lives.

“We are lifelong car enthusiasts, yes, but we are also lifelong animal lovers, and our dog Bailey is a cherished member of our family,” the clients said. “When we started our Rolls-Royce Spectre commission, we saw the opportunity to create something beautiful which would remind us of him for decades to come. Working with the Rolls-Royce Bespoke Collective, we were surprised at every turn with their wonderful ideas – the wood inlay, or the paw prints on the sill – which added so much to the experience. Spectre Bailey is everything we hoped for and more; it’s a joyful tribute to our loyal companion.”

Phil Fabre de la Grange, Head of Bespoke at Rolls-Royce Motor Cars, added: “For Rolls-Royce, one of the great joys of a Bespoke commission is becoming immersed in the client’s world and the unique story behind their vision. This is perfectly captured by Spectre Bailey, a charming commission that reaffirms that inspiration can come from anywhere. Our team was absolutely delighted to collaborate with our long-standing clients to bring this concept to life in a playful yet timeless manner, reflecting the special place Bailey holds in their hearts.”

Rolls Royce Spectre Bailey A Bespoke Tribute To A Beloved Companion

Bespoke Paint: A Coat of Character

Every element of Spectre Bailey was meticulously considered, beginning with its iridescent two-tone finish, developed at the Home of Rolls-Royce in Goodwood. The main body, Beautiful Bailey, draws inspiration from the soft fur on Bailey’s ear, while the upper section shines in Crystal Fusion, a dynamic finish that shifts subtly in light, evoking the playful spirit of the dog himself.

The shoulder Coachline carries a hand-painted reproduction of Bailey’s paw print in Rose Gold, matching the Spirit of Ecstasy figurine and forming a subtle yet enduring signature of the companion that inspired it.

Interior: A Canvas of Warmth and Whimsy

The interior marries Moccasin and Crème Light leather with Dark Spice and Casden Tan accents, harmonising with Bailey’s coat and the overarching colour story. High Gloss Royal Walnut veneer lends warmth and sophistication throughout the cabin.

At the heart of the interior lies a marquetry portrait of Bailey on the waterfall between the rear seats. This lifelike tribute comprises over 180 pieces of carefully selected veneer, assembled over four months. Artisans explored a spectrum of natural textures, experimenting with grain direction, tone, and hue to capture the warmth and realism of Bailey’s fur. Notably, Bailey’s tongue alone required four unique veneers—Purple Heart, Tulipwood, Louro Faia, and Pear—never previously used by Rolls-Royce, while a total of nine veneers created 22 natural shades, resulting in a portrait of remarkable depth and vitality.

The passenger dashboard carries a smaller marquetry motif of Bailey’s paw print, mirrored in Bespoke Rose Gold treadplates on the door sills—a subtle detail revealed at the moment the doors open, offering a personal and delightful discovery.

Spectre Bailey: More Than a Car, a Celebration

Spectre Bailey embodies devotion, playfulness, and meticulous craftsmanship. It is a motor car that celebrates a beloved companion and demonstrates the boundless possibilities of Rolls-Royce Bespoke, where inspiration flows from the stories, passions, and loves of its clients.

This exceptional creation is a lasting tribute to Bailey—a loyal friend whose presence now endures in timeless form, a celebration of life, love, and the extraordinary artistry that defines Rolls-Royce.
