The cutting-edge British hypercar makes a ferocious first impression as it blends race-grade engineering with road-going civility.
Wellingborough, Northampton, 22 May 2025 – In a dramatic debut that left even seasoned supercar enthusiasts speechless, the RML P39 hypercar prototype broke cover at Supercar Fest: The Runway 2025. The public unveiling at Sywell Aerodrome marked a defining moment not only for RML Group’s 40th anniversary but also for the ever-blurring line between track weaponry and road car refinement.
Amid the echo of full-throttle runs and top-speed shootouts, the P39 didn’t just turn heads – it recalibrated expectations. Packing 920 horsepower, 705 lb-ft of torque, and over 6,500 newtons of downforce in Track mode, this British-built beast outshone rivals with ease and poise. Yet beneath the aggression lies a deeply refined machine—one engineered as much for the King’s Road as it is for curbing apexes at Silverstone.
Hypercar Engineering, Motorsport Soul
Born from the bones of the Porsche 992.1 Turbo S, the RML P39 is no simple power-hike special. It’s a full-system reimagination. RML’s engineers have fused cutting-edge aerodynamics, a re-engineered chassis, and a heavily uprated powertrain into a package that straddles the line between hypercar and full-fledged GT racer.
“Our mission was clear: build a car that could shape-shift,” explains Michael Mallock, board member overseeing RML’s Bespoke Division. “Serene for the road. Savage for the circuit. The P39 delivers both, with no compromise.”
The numbers back him up. In Road mode, the car generates a remarkable 5,100N of downforce—already more than triple that of the donor Turbo S. But switch to Track mode, and that figure vaults past 6,500N at 150 mph, courtesy of a suite of active aerodynamic tools including a twin-element rear wing, DRS functionality, an extending front splitter, and fully re-sculpted carbon-fibre bodywork.
This attention to airflow isn’t just for show—it enables monumental grip, heightened responsiveness, and a driving experience RML proudly compares to GT-class racers.

Re-Engineered from the Ground Up
To harness this aerodynamic potential, RML didn’t just tweak the chassis—they rebuilt it. New suspension links, widened tracks, and recalibrated rear-wheel steering work in harmony with custom R53-developed dampers and a hydraulic ride-height adjustment system.
The result is a car that’s lower, wider, and longer than the original Porsche, yet surprisingly composed. From urban potholes to pit-lane entries, the P39 adapts, maintaining composure without numbing feedback.
This adaptability carries into the cockpit, where drivers can toggle between multiple chassis and powertrain settings with fingertip ease.
A Powertrain with Multiple Personalities
The heart of the P39 is a deeply reworked version of the 3.8-litre twin-turbo flat-six, built in collaboration with Litchfield Motors. It breathes through larger intakes, expels via a bespoke Inconel exhaust valve—the largest of its kind fitted to a road-going flat-six—and channels its fury through multiple modes.
- 600hp Wet Mode: For low-grip confidence.
- 750hp Normal Mode: Fast-road ready.
- 920hp Sport/Sport+: Circuit-bred savagery.
All this comes with a 12-month/12,000-mile warranty and OTA diagnostics to ensure the P39 continues to evolve with its owner.
Looking Ahead: A Summer of Speed
With its sensational debut now behind it, the P39’s next UK appearances will be at the Supercar Driver Secret Meet at Silverstone on 17 June, followed by a starring role at the Silverstone Festival from 22–24 August.
Behind the scenes, RML’s development team continues to fine-tune the car, gathering invaluable data ahead of the first UK customer deliveries, scheduled for late summer 2025.
CEO Paul Dickinson reflects on the P39 as a symbol of RML’s legacy and future:
“P39 is a rolling demonstration of what RML’s Engineering Division can achieve. It’s the purest expression of four decades of motorsport excellence, and it wears our badge with pride.”
Exclusivity Assured
Production of the P39 will be limited to just 39 units, with bespoke options available for each owner. Sales and aftercare agents have already been appointed in Europe and the United States, ensuring global support for this ultra-exclusive machine.
The RML P39 isn’t just a car—it’s a statement. A razor-sharp fusion of technology, elegance and explosive capability, it sets a new benchmark for what a modern hypercar can be: versatile, visceral, and vividly British.
