SsangYong celebrates its return to the UK with its best ever model line-up. Spearheaded by the contemporary new Korando crossover, the top value range also includes the rugged Rexton 4×4 and spacious Rodius MPV.
With all three models now on sale, SsangYong is ready to make an impact in three separate areas of the new car market. Prices start at only £14,995 for the seven seat Rodius MPV and £19,995 for the highly capable Rexton off roader, showing that value for money remains at the very core of the SsangYong range, along with quality and practicality.
The SsangYong range is backed by an industry leading 5 year limitless mileage warranty. Designed to be totally transparent and give customers complete peace of mind, it covers all major mechanical components including wheel bearings, suspension joints and bushes, steering joints, shock absorbers and even the audio system.
Rexton
Internationally renowned, Korean 4×4 specialist SsangYong has a rich history of creating robust off road vehicles. The Rexton is no exception, placing true go anywhere ability at the centre of its rugged appeal. Solidly built, Rexton can tackle the toughest terrain while also providing an impressive 3.2 tonne towing capability. When drivers need to haul their horsebox, caravan, boat or trailer with confidence and in safety, Rexton really proves its mettle whatever the weather or conditions.
Practicality is also at the heart of the Rexton. All models are fitted with seven seats as standard, while the 4×4 offers generous space for up to 1,338 litres of luggage.
While rivals offering the same level of durability come with a much higher price tag, the SsangYong provides superb value. Available from only £19,995, Rexton is powered by an advanced 2.7 litre five cylinder turbo diesel engine. Delivering a power output of 163bhp, it provides 340Nm of torque from only 1,800rpm. What’s more, a torque on demand four wheel drive system is standard on all variants, distributing the pulling power to the axle that needs it most and ensuring the best possible traction at all times.
When the going gets really tough the driver can select low range which also splits the torque equally between front and rear axles to provide enough all round traction to handle the most difficult terrain.
Rexton is available in a choice of S and EX trim. The entry level S model comes equipped with ABS, EBD and ESP, as well as automatic climate control and seven seats. Move up to EX specification and leather upholstery, heated seats and a Mercedes-Benz five speed T-Tronic automatic are included as standard.

SsangYong Motor UK
Following a 70 per cent acquisition of SsangYong by Indian engineering conglomerate Mahindra & Mahindra, the Korean car maker’s future in the UK is assured thanks to new investment in the importing company.
Led by Paul Williams, SsangYong Motor UK has been created from the purchase of shares in the previous importer, Koelliker UK, from the Italian based Gruppo Koelliker by the European automotive distribution company, Bassadone Automotive Group.
The present network of 52 dealers is to be expanded to 65, selling a range of the following SsangYong models:
