Kia South Africa is proud to unveil the new 2024 Picanto, showcasing a bold exterior design and an array of fresh color options, reinforcing its competitive edge in the A-segment market. Launched initially in 2004, the Picanto has sold over 100,000 units, thanks to its outstanding reliability and appeal as a city car. This latest model continues to embody Kia’s ‘Opposites United’ design philosophy, which blends modernity with nature-inspired elements to create a dynamic and sporty look.
The revamped Picanto boasts significant updates, including a new lighting signature, a refreshed front bumper, and an evolved version of Kia’s iconic ‘tiger nose’ grille. These enhancements contribute to a more confident and wider stance, especially with the newly designed rear that features connected taillights beneath the rear windshield.
Despite these aesthetic changes, the Picanto retains its compact dimensions, ensuring it remains a practical choice for urban driving. It offers ample cabin and boot space, excellent legroom and headroom, and maintains comfort with its well-engineered suspension system.
The 2024 Picanto is available with updated color schemes and three wheel design options, enhancing its visual appeal. Internally, it features a high-quality, tech-rich interior with a centrally aligned dashboard and an 8-inch color touchscreen that reduces driver distraction.

Under the hood, the reliable 1.0-liter and 1.2-liter petrol engines have been optimized for better efficiency and lower emissions. The car comes with either a 5-speed manual or a 4-speed automatic transmission, providing options to suit different driving preferences.
Kia has streamlined the Picanto’s trim levels to offer a more straightforward choice to consumers while ensuring high standard specifications across the board. The new entry-level Picanto LX is packed with features that defy the entry-level tag, such as keyless entry, a reverse camera, and smartphone integration.
Safety remains a priority, with the new Picanto using Advanced High-strength Steel to fortify critical areas, alongside standard safety features like ABS and dual front airbags.
The top-tier Picanto EX Plus adds luxury touches such as a Smart Key, automatic climate control, and LED rear lights, confirming that small cars can also be premium and technologically advanced.
With this latest iteration, Kia continues to listen to customer feedback and evolve the Picanto range to meet modern demands, ensuring it remains a compelling choice for urban drivers looking for a car that combines style, comfort, and efficiency. The new Kia Picanto is now available, with a starting price of R 260,995 and includes a comprehensive service plan and warranty for added peace of mind.
