Renault Fluence

Renault South Africa is proud to announce the arrival of the New Fluence Dynamique 2.0 litre sedan with Continuously Variable Transmission (CVT). The kingpin of the model’s Phase 2 line-up, the fabulous Dynamique 2.0 litre 16V CVT is the third and final variant in the 2013 range introduced in mid-May.

Petrol-powered like its two siblings – the entry- and mid-level New Fluence Expression 1.6 and the Dynamique 2.0 respectively – it’s the new arrival’s deluxe design and CVT which offers fast acceleration, quieter running and a seamless shifting experience, that sets it apart from its peers in the traditionally conservative C-segment sedan category.

PERFORMANCE, COMFORT AND SAVINGS

Renault’s latest CVT technology is tangibly impressive and addresses key customer requirements including performance, comfort and savings. Highly responsive on starts and at low speeds, it affords peak performance through city traffic and maintains optimum torque for any given power demand. From a comfort perspective it ensures a smoother driving experience by avoiding gearshift shocks and, by enabling the engine to run at its most efficient RPM, the CVT reduces fuel consumption by three percent compared to its manual counterpart.

The Dynamique CVT’s 2.0 litre 16V engine produces 103kW (140hp) at 6 000 r/min, accompanied by a substantial 195Nm of torque at 3 700 r/min. From a standing start sprint, it goes from 0km – 100km/hour in just 10.1 seconds and has a top speed of 195km/h, with a combined cycle consumption of 7.7litres/100km.

Since Fluence first launched in South Africa in March 2011, it has found significant favour amongst a vast buying audience and earned its reputation as a versatile, value-for-money sedan. A practical family sedan well-suited to the family motoring role, with its über-upmarket, executive styling in tandem with equipment levels beyond the norm in its class, the New Fluence is also much in demand by corporate fleet and government customers.

SMART TECHNOLOGY

The New Fluence 2013 line-up comes with an impressive level of features showcasing Renault’s leading smart technology. A comprehensive selection of add-on accessories is also available to enhance the drive experience.

The Dynamique 2.0 litre 16V manual and CVT derivatives boast high value features and equipment levels, several of which outclass competitor models in its segment including: cruise control with speed limiter, LED daytime running lights, auto rain and light sensors, front and rear park distance control sensors, lumbar setting on both driver & front passenger seats. Equipped with a 18 cm touch screen with Tom-Tom® navigation, Radio 3D Sound by Arkamys®, USB and Bluetooth® and a MP3-compatible CD player for easy access, start-up and central locking, there’s the Renault hands-free, keyless card system complemented by a coded electronic engine immobiliser system.

SAFETY STANDARDS

These models have been rigorously engineered to ensure optimum levels of protection, reliability and durability and have been designed to deliver leading safety performance thanks to ABS braking, EBA and EBD. Electronic stability control (ESP) is also standard on the Dynamique duo.

Fitted with six airbags – front driver/passenger airbags, driver/passenger side airbags (chest – pelvis) and curtain units front and rear – as well as anti-whiplash height-adjustable front headrests, the safety belt system is fitted with a double pre-tensioner in the front seats and load limiter in the rear. The two rear side seats are fitted with an ISOFIX fastening system for the safe fitment of child seats and automatic central locking of all doors and the boot occurs when the car pulls away.

NEW FLUENCE: THE SUPER SEDAN ALTERNATIVE

New Fluence Phase 2 is the ‘super sedan’ alternative in its class in terms of quality, comfort, technology and on-board refinement levels. With stylish looks and lines in tandem with the guarantee of an executive class driving experience, New Fluence is re-writing the rules as far as sedans are concerned.

“The New Fluence is a premium vehicle in terms of its deluxe design, up-to-the-minute features and solid performance and is truly the standout auto alternative to the conservatively-styled mainstream contenders in the C-segment sedan category,” says Fabien Payzan, Vice President, Marketing and Communications at Renault South Africa.

In addition to its eye-catching styling which is dominated by the prominent and attention-grabbing chrome Renault badge positioned in the centre of the glossy black radiator grille, the New Fluence Dynamique range boasts an impressive level of features inside and out with a comprehensive selection of add-on accessories also available. A comfortable and spacious saloon car, it has the greatest interior space in its vehicle class category.

INDUSTRY LEADING WARRANTY

All three of the Phase 2 New Fluence variants come with Renault’s industry-leading and standard 5-year/150 000km mechanical warranty. There is also a 5-year/90 000km service plan (optionally upgradable to a full maintenance plan), comprehensive roadside assistance plan for the duration of the warranty period, fixed-price servicing costs (15 000km intervals) and guaranteed parts availability or a mobility solution until parts become available.
