Renault is set to showcase the production version of its new Trafic Van E-Tech electric at the UK Commercial Vehicle Show 2026, marking a key milestone ahead of orders opening later this year. Following its global concept debut last year, the finished Trafic E-Tech arrives in Birmingham ready to demonstrate its advanced capabilities for business users.
Built on a dedicated skateboard platform, the new Trafic E-Tech combines compact practicality with impressive performance. The van offers load volumes of up to 5.8m³, a payload of 1.25 tonnes, and towing capacity of 2 tonnes, all while maintaining an overall height of 1.90m for easy access to underground car parks. Its tight 10.3-metre turning circle ensures effortless manoeuvrability in urban environments, making it a versatile choice for fleets navigating congested streets.
Powered by an 800V electrical architecture, the Trafic E-Tech electric supports DC fast charging from 15% to 80% in just 20 minutes, delivering up to 450 km of range on the long-range NMC battery. An urban-focused LFP battery will follow, offering 350 km without the use of rare metals such as cobalt or nickel. Vehicle-to-Load and Vehicle-to-Grid capabilities further enhance its practicality, allowing the van to power external tools or feed energy back to the grid as needed.
The Trafic E-Tech electric is Renault’s first Software Defined Vehicle, enabling over-the-air updates that improve performance, add features, and maintain reliability over time. Its OpenR multimedia system, featuring a 12-inch central touchscreen, integrates navigation specifically tailored for commercial use and Google built-in services, ensuring routes and charging stops are optimised for vehicle size and load.
Manufactured in Sandouville, France, the Trafic E-Tech electric will also be offered in chassis formats, with on-site conversions available through Renault’s Qstomize subsidiary. Bespoke projects can leverage the expertise of over 300 Renault Pro+ approved partner bodybuilders, allowing fleets to adapt the vehicle to their exact operational requirements.
Renault’s 823sqm stand at Hall 5, Stand 5F84 of the NEC Birmingham will display the Trafic Van E-Tech electric alongside other innovative solutions shaping the commercial vehicle sector’s move toward net zero. The model arrives at a time of strong fleet performance for Renault, building on the brand’s third-place UK true fleet ranking in 2025 and its most successful fleet delivery year in over a decade.
