Renault has delivered a stunning performance at the 2025 What Car? Van and Commercial Vehicle Awards, claiming victories in four major categories. At the centre of this triumph is the New Renault Master, which not only secured the prestigious title of “Van of the Year 2025” but also clinched the “Best Large Van” and “Best Large Electric Van” accolades. Adding to Renault’s impressive tally, the Kangoo E-Tech 100% electric earned the “Best Small Electric Van” award for the second consecutive year.

A Master of Innovation and Utility
The New Renault Master (internal combustion engine) earned top honours as Van of the Year 2025, with judges highlighting its transformative impact on the large van sector. They praised its remarkable efficiency, cutting-edge safety features, and enhanced usability—qualities that set a new benchmark in the category.

Steve Huntingford, Editor at What Car?, remarked:
“The all-new Renault Master has been designed with efficiency in mind, but that doesn’t get in the way of its ability to do what a large van needs to. It can carry huge volumes of cargo, and accessing the load bay is easy thanks to the largest side door on the market. We were also impressed with the Master’s outstanding array of safety kit.”

This recognition extends to the fully electric variant, the New Renault Master E-Tech 100% electric, which was named “Best Large Electric Van”. With a WLTP range of up to 285 miles—a 20% improvement over its predecessor—the electric Master is reshaping perceptions of what large EVs can achieve. Its spacious, driver-friendly cabin and advanced safety features further enhance its appeal.

Huntingford added:
“The new Renault Master E-Tech proves that size is no barrier to electric vans, with a longer range than rivals, as well as the ability to carry more cargo. The interior is just as spacious and comfortable as that of the regular Master, and comes with the same plethora of safety and assistance kit.”

Kangoo E-Tech: Small but Mighty
For the second year running, the Renault Kangoo E-Tech 100% electric was named “Best Small Electric Van”, a testament to its enduring practicality, versatility, and efficiency.

What Car? Editor Huntingford commented:
“The latest fully electric Renault Kangoo E-Tech offers a complete solution for businesses looking to go green, thanks to a long electric range, peppy performance, and the prospect of low running costs. Of course, all of this wouldn’t count for much if it wasn’t practical, but the Kangoo E-Tech offers a competitive cargo space.”

With a range of up to 186 miles, flexible charging options, and a load capacity of 4.2m³, the Kangoo E-Tech is a perfect partner for businesses seeking to reduce their carbon footprint without compromising functionality.

Leadership in the LCV Market
Adam Wood, Managing Director and Country Head at Renault Group UK, celebrated the wins, saying:
“These prestigious awards, presented by the experts at What Car?, demonstrate the breadth of appeal of the Renault light commercial vehicle line-up, with a range of vans that are not just great for business but are great for drivers, too.”

Designed for Today’s Businesses
The New Renault Master continues to set the standard in usability and versatility. With load spaces ranging from 11 to 14.8 cubic metres, a 40mm wider side door opening, and an extended load length, it offers unmatched convenience for businesses across various sectors.

The electric Master E-Tech features a 105kW motor and an 87kWh battery, enabling rapid charging capabilities:

130kW DC fast charging: Adds 142 miles in 30 minutes.
22kW AC charging: Full recharge from 10% to 100% in under four hours.
The Renault Kangoo E-Tech 100% electric also impresses with its adaptability. It supports rapid DC charging of up to 80kW, achieving 80% capacity in just 43 minutes, while offering a payload of up to 764kg and towing capacity of 1,500kg.

Pricing and Availability
New Renault Master ICE: Starting at £33,500 plus VAT.
New Renault Master E-Tech 100% electric: From £37,500 plus VAT (after PiVG).
Renault Kangoo E-Tech 100% electric: Priced from £27,350 plus VAT (after PiVG).

Renault’s light commercial vehicle range continues to lead the market with a focus on innovation, efficiency, and driver experience. These awards underscore the brand’s commitment to delivering vehicles that excel in practicality and sustainability, setting new benchmarks for the industry. Whether powered by traditional engines or cutting-edge electric systems, Renault’s vans are redefining standards for businesses today.
