Renault has sharpened its compact SUV offering for the 2026 model year, introducing a more powerful entry-level petrol engine for the Captur and broadening the availability of the sporty, high-spec esprit Alpine trim across both Captur and Symbioz ranges. The updates give customers greater choice, stronger performance options, and a more premium blend of comfort, style, and technology.

Captur Gains Stronger TCe 115 Petrol Engine

For 2026, the Renault Captur welcomes the new TCe 115 engine, replacing the long-serving TCe 90 as the starting point in the line-up. The upgraded 1.0-litre turbocharged three-cylinder unit produces 115hp and 190Nm of torque, delivering livelier acceleration, smoother drivability, and improved flexibility in everyday use.

Paired with a six-speed manual transmission, the TCe 115 offers an engaging yet efficient driving experience. Provisional WLTP combined CO₂ emissions stand at 130g/km, with final homologation in progress.

Prices for the new Captur TCe 115 begin at £22,495 OTR, ensuring a stronger entry point without compromising value.

esprit Alpine Trim Now Available With Captur TCe 115

Previously reserved for the full hybrid Captur E-Tech 160, the sporty esprit Alpine trim can now be specified with the new TCe 115 engine. This expansion gives customers access to a more dynamic, premium interpretation of Captur at a lower price point than before.

The esprit Alpine specification builds on the techno trim with an extensive suite of style, comfort, and safety enhancements. Highlights include distinctive Alpine-inspired exterior details, 19-inch ‘elixir’ alloy wheels, heated front seats, a heated synthetic leather steering wheel, and electrically adjustable front seats with lumbar support.

Inside, the cabin receives 26% recycled jacquard madama fabric combined with titanium black biosourced materials, finished with Alpine blue stitching. Convenience and safety technologies are also significantly upgraded, adding adaptive cruise control with lane centring, Active Driver Assist, blind spot recognition with emergency lane keeping assist, rear cross traffic with pedestrian alert, occupant safe exit alert, and rear automatic braking.

The Captur esprit Alpine TCe 115 is priced from £26,095 OTR.

Symbioz Range Grows With New techno esprit Alpine Mild Hybrid 140

Renault has also strengthened the Symbioz line-up with the addition of the techno esprit Alpine mild hybrid 140, priced from £29,595 OTR. This new model pairs the efficient 140hp mild hybrid petrol engine with the high-specification esprit Alpine design and technology package, giving customers a more athletic and premium alternative within the mid-range of the line-up.

The esprit Alpine trim enhances Symbioz with exclusive exterior styling cues, upgraded interior materials and comfort features, and a broad suite of advanced driver assistance technologies. As with Captur, it brings a more engaging, dynamic character to the model, reinforcing its position as Renault’s forward-thinking, family-focused SUV.

Customers now have maximum flexibility when configuring a Symbioz, with the mild hybrid 140 engine available in both techno and techno esprit Alpine trims, or the E-Tech full hybrid 160 available in techno, techno esprit Alpine, and iconic esprit Alpine variants.

A More Premium, Technologically Advanced SUV Duo

Renault’s 2026 updates emphasise versatility and personalisation. By offering new powertrain options and expanding the esprit Alpine trim across the range, both Captur and Symbioz now offer stronger performance, elevated comfort, and richer equipment at multiple price points.

The result is a pair of SUVs that better reflect evolving customer expectations for style, efficiency, and advanced safety technologies.

Orders for the updated Captur and Symbioz are now open, with first deliveries expected later this year.
