Renault has made a striking comeback to Letchworth, Hertfordshire, with the grand opening of a brand-new dealership that not only reintroduces the French marque to the town after more than a decade but also debuts the brand’s bold new corporate identity – the ‘R Store’ – for the very first time in the UK.
Located on Icknield Way, just a stone’s throw from the A1, Letchworth Renault marks a significant milestone for both the local area and the wider Renault retail network. Operated by Letchworth Autoways, a family-run business rooted in the region since 1974, the cutting-edge 1.5-acre facility represents a near-£500,000 investment – a clear signal of confidence in the Renault brand and its ambitious vision for the future.
A New Era in Automotive Retail
More than just a dealership, Letchworth Renault is the first UK site to unveil the new ‘R Store’ corporate identity – a concept that places the spotlight firmly on the vehicles while delivering a warm, immersive, and customer-centric experience. From semi-open offices and discussion zones to dedicated handover areas and vibrant, colour-rich displays, the design fosters a welcoming atmosphere that reflects the values of the modern Renault brand.
The facility boasts a spacious showroom showcasing six of Renault’s latest models – including the Renault 5 E-Tech electric, recently crowned International Car of the Year 2025 – alongside a forecourt capable of displaying up to 100 Renew approved used cars.
Built for the Future
More than just aesthetically advanced, the new site is purpose-built to meet the evolving needs of today’s motorists. A 24/7 EV charging station, accessible to the public, and an 11-bay workshop – complete with ramps for light commercial vehicles – ensure that the dealership is equipped to support both current and next-generation mobility.
Several new roles have been created as a result of the launch, expanding the Letchworth Autoways team, many of whom bring local knowledge and automotive experience from their previous franchise operations at the site.

The opening was marked by a visit from senior Renault UK executives, including Adam Wood, Managing Director of Renault UK, who joined the Letchworth team to celebrate the occasion and officially unveil the new showroom.
