Renault’s flagship commercial vehicle, the New Renault Master, has driven off with top honours, earning the title of “Best Large Van” at the 2025 Trade Van Driver Awards. Recognised not only by a panel of seasoned automotive journalists but also by the very professionals who use vans every day to power their businesses, the accolade is a true testament to the Master’s wide-ranging appeal.

This latest win follows hot on the heels of the International Van of the Year 2025 award, further cementing the New Master’s position as a front-runner in the large van segment.

“Featuring stunning new looks and diesel and electric powertrains, the Master has all engine options covered,” noted the judges. “Renault has not featured largely in our awards over the years, so the judges were pleased to see that the French manufacturer had come up trumps with this vehicle – and their vote was unanimous.”

The Trade Van Driver Awards are unique in the industry in that they combine the editorial expertise of the publication’s own road testers with real-world insights from its reader panel – people who rely on their vans every day for everything from deliveries to mobile services. It’s this blend of expert scrutiny and practical feedback that gives the award its credibility and relevance.

Business-minded, fleet-friendly

Seb Brechon, Head of LCV and PRO+ at Renault UK, welcomed the recognition:

“With the judging panel including industry professionals who rely on their vans to do their jobs, the award is a fantastic illustration of how the New Renault Master really does work for business users. It’s further proof that it sets the benchmark for the van sector, appealing not just to owner-drivers and small fleet operators, but also to large-scale commercial fleets.”

Designed to do more, for less

The New Renault Master is available in a range of variants tailored to diverse operational needs, with load capacities from 11 to 20 cubic metres, a 40mm wider side door opening, and an extended 100mm load length, all contributing to increased usability and versatility. Whether you’re hauling equipment, delivering bulky goods or converting the van for specialist use, the Master is engineered to handle the workload.

Externally, it features a bold new design that reflects Renault’s latest styling direction. Inside, the upgraded cabin boasts premium materials, a more ergonomic layout, and the OpenR Link multimedia system as standard, complete with smartphone integration. Buyers opting for the Extra trim can enjoy Google built-in functionality for seamless connectivity and productivity on the move.

Adding to its appeal is a comprehensive suite of 20 driver assistance systems, offering enhanced safety and peace of mind during long stints on the road or tight manoeuvres in urban environments.

Flexible powertrains for a changing world

The New Renault Master is available with both efficient diesel options and E-Tech 100% electric versions, catering to businesses at different stages of their sustainability journeys. The electric variants are priced from £37,500 plus VAT after the Plug-in Van Grant (PiVG), while the diesel versions start at £33,500 plus VAT – representing strong value for a van that delivers on performance, comfort, and total cost of ownership.

As the demands on commercial vehicles evolve – from emissions regulations to digital connectivity – the New Renault Master stands out as a van ready to meet the future head-on, while staying true to the everyday needs of real-world drivers.
