Renault has lifted the curtain on a new flagship that does far more than introduce a single model. The Renault Filante marks the brand’s strategic return to the premium segment and plays a central role in its 2027 International Game Plan, reinforcing Renault’s ambitions across Asia, the Middle East and beyond.
Positioned as a global showcase of design, technology and hybrid performance, Filante is set to launch first in South Korea in March 2026, followed by selected South American markets and the Gulf States in early 2027. It represents not just a new vehicle, but a new chapter in Renault’s international expansion.
A name steeped in heritage and ambition
The Filante name carries significant historical weight. It echoes the Étoile Filante prototype that set multiple world speed records at the Bonneville Salt Flats in 1956, and more recently the Renault Filante Record 2025 electric concept, which achieved a remarkable efficiency record of 1,008 km in under ten hours.
It also references Renault’s prestigious Étoile models of the 1930s, a lineage that underlines Filante’s premium positioning. In doing so, Renault blends its past achievements with a forward-looking vision aimed squarely at modern global markets.
Built at Renault’s Busan plant in South Korea, Filante reflects the technological expertise of Renault Korea and the strength of the local automotive industry. Developed specifically with regional preferences in mind, it sits in the E segment, an important space where D- and E-segment vehicles account for more than half of the Korean market.
Avant-garde design with crossover presence
Based on the Aurora project, Renault Filante introduces a fresh design language that merges saloon elegance with SUV confidence. Its proportions and sculpted surfaces create a distinctive crossover silhouette that positions it as a premium alternative to traditional E-segment sedans.
Measuring 4,915 mm in length, 1,890 mm in width and 1,635 mm in height, Filante has a strong road presence while promising generous interior space. The elongated, coupé-like rear profile, flowing roofline and precision-finished details give it a sense of movement even at standstill.
At the front, an illuminated three-dimensional grille inspired by the Renault diamond logo forms a striking light signature, complemented by ultra-slim LED headlights and sharply angled daytime running lights. The rear continues the theme with ultra-slim LED lamps, sculpted surfaces and a suspended spoiler that emphasises width and athleticism. The Esprit Alpine version adds contrasting finishes for an even more assertive look.
A refined, high-tech interior
Inside, Renault Filante is conceived as a calm, contemporary living space, balancing advanced technology with comfort and material refinement. A wide horizontal dashboard houses three 12.3-inch screens forming the OpenR Panorama Screen, supported by a 25.6-inch augmented-reality head-up display that keeps essential information directly in the driver’s line of sight.
The cabin design prioritises clarity and ease of use, with intuitive controls, a new four-spoke steering wheel and discreetly integrated air vents. Materials include recycled and grained coated textiles, chosen to deliver durability and comfort while reducing environmental impact.
Trim levels include Techno, Iconic and Esprit Alpine, each with its own colour schemes and finishes. The Esprit Alpine version adds distinctive stitching, detailing and illuminated branding inspired by Alpine’s performance heritage.
Space, comfort and premium practicality
Thanks to its 2,820 mm wheelbase, Filante offers generous accommodation for all occupants. Rear passengers benefit from ample knee and headroom, while the boot provides 654 litres of capacity with the seats up and up to 2,071 litres when folded.
A fixed panoramic sunroof floods the cabin with natural light, enhancing the sense of space. Tri-zone climate control allows individual temperature adjustment, supported by an air purification system that monitors fine particles. Enhanced soundproofing, acoustic glazing and optimised seals create a serene environment, complemented by either an Arkamys audio system or a Bose Premium setup with active noise cancellation.
Connectivity and digital innovation
Renault Filante introduces the latest generation of the OpenR Panorama infotainment system with Android Automotive integration. The interface is designed to be fast, intuitive and highly personalised, offering voice control, app access and individual driver profiles.
A dedicated 12.3-inch passenger screen allows independent media use, while a world-first XR in-car video game uses the vehicle’s cameras with near-zero latency. The Adot Auto intelligent voice assistant and AI Tips provide natural interaction and contextual guidance, with software updates delivered seamlessly over the air.
Connectivity is comprehensive, including multiple USB-C ports, wireless smartphone charging, onboard Wi-Fi and multipoint Bluetooth. The My Renault app extends functionality beyond the vehicle, enabling remote access, pre-conditioning and digital key sharing.
Advanced safety and driver assistance
With more than 30 advanced driver assistance systems grouped under Renault Easy Drive, Filante is designed to make driving safer and more relaxed. These include intelligent adaptive cruise control with Stop & Go, lane centring, emergency braking with pedestrian and cyclist detection, blind-spot monitoring, Auto Park Assist and a 360-degree camera system with transparent chassis view.
Three new technologies debut on Filante: emergency collision avoidance with enhanced steering support, a digital interior rear-view mirror that improves rear visibility, and child presence detection that monitors the cabin and triggers alerts if a child is left inside. A driver attention monitoring system further enhances safety, while key information is projected via the head-up display.
Hybrid performance without compromise
Underpinning Filante is Renault’s upgraded full hybrid E-Tech 250 hp powertrain, developed on the CMA platform. The system combines a 1.5-litre turbocharged petrol engine with two electric motors and a sophisticated DHT Pro automatic transmission, delivering a combined output of 250 hp and up to 565 Nm of torque.
The compact lithium-ion battery enables up to 75 percent of city driving in electric mode, with the vehicle always starting silently on electric power. Fuel consumption is reduced by up to 50 percent compared with an equivalent non-hybrid petrol engine, while CO₂ emissions are rated at 106 g/km.
Chassis and suspension tuning focus on comfort, refinement and high-speed stability, with Renault targeting top results in the 2026 KNCAP safety ratings.
A cornerstone of Renault’s global strategy
Renault Filante stands as a clear statement of intent. As part of the 2027 International Game Plan, it supports Renault’s goal of launching eight new vehicles outside Europe between 2024 and 2027, with one in three international sales expected to be hybrid or electric.
Blending heritage, avant-garde design and advanced hybrid technology, Filante positions Renault confidently back in the premium arena and signals a renewed focus on global growth with substance, style and innovation.
