Since its debut in 2010, the Renault Duster has been a game-changer in the SUV market. With a major refresh in 2017, the Duster has continued to captivate customers around the world. A staggering 2.2 million units sold globally, with roughly 1,000 Dusters rolling off Renault’s Pitesti plant in Romania each day, speaks volumes about the vehicle’s popularity. With accolades from all corners of the globe, including being Europe’s best-selling SUV in 2022, the Duster has proven to be more than just a car—it’s a true icon in the automotive world.

Now, the third generation of this beloved model is set to continue that legacy. The 2025 Renault Duster has been meticulously re-engineered to offer modern styling, cutting-edge technology, and an eco-friendly powertrain, all while preserving the rugged, adventurous spirit that has endeared it to so many.

A Bold New Look: Making a Statement

The all-new Duster comes with a complete redesign, elevating the SUV’s signature ruggedness to new heights. Its larger, muscular build, combined with modern touches, results in a more assertive road presence.

Exterior Highlights
A striking new front design features the iconic Y-shaped LED headlights and taillights, flanked by a larger grille that proudly displays the new Renault logo. Chunky cladding and skid plates reinforce its off-road prowess, while modular roof bars provide practical solutions for outdoor adventures. The higher ground clearance of up to 217mm (in the 4WD version) ensures that the Duster is not only built to withstand challenging terrains but also boasts a more dominant stance on any road.

David Durand, Renault’s Design Director, explained, “We wanted the proportions to create a balanced stance, without relying on superficial styling tweaks. Every line and curve on the Duster is intentional, resulting in a robust and powerful design.” This philosophy is embodied in the bold yet refined lines of the exterior and the functional design elements like flush rear door handles and protective exterior shields.

An Interior Crafted for Comfort and Practicality

Step inside, and the Duster impresses with a redesigned cabin that marries comfort with utility. The spacious interior, made possible by the new CMF-B platform, provides ample legroom and boot space—472 litres in the 4×2 version. The updated dashboard design, including a 10.1-inch infotainment touchscreen angled towards the driver, adds a modern touch while improving ergonomics. For a seamless user experience, it supports wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto.

Practicality is a key feature, with the introduction of Renault’s YouClip 3-in-1 system—a modular accessory attachment system that enhances convenience and versatility inside the cabin. Whether you need extra storage or a place to secure your gear, the Duster adapts to your needs.

Eco-Savvy Performance: The Mild Hybrid Advantage

As the automotive industry shifts towards sustainability, Renault’s commitment to reducing its environmental footprint is evident in the Duster’s powertrain. The 4WD version now offers a mild-hybrid engine option, combining a 1.2-litre turbocharged petrol engine with a 48V battery and starter generator. This setup delivers 96kW of power and offers up to a 12.3% improvement in fuel efficiency compared to non-hybrid models. Regenerative braking, a stop-start function, and lower CO2 emissions further emphasize the Duster’s eco-friendly approach without compromising on performance.

For those seeking a more traditional powertrain, the 1.3L turbocharged petrol engine in the 4×2 models offers 113kW of power, paired with a smooth EDC automatic transmission. Whether you’re on-road or off-road, the Duster delivers the performance and efficiency you need to go the distance.

Ready for Any Terrain: Off-Road Capability at Its Best

Adventure seekers will be delighted by the new Duster’s off-road abilities. The 4WD version features Terrain Control, offering five driving modes—AUTO, SNOW, MUD/SAND, OFF-ROAD, and ECO. This allows the driver to adapt the vehicle’s dynamics to challenging surfaces. The Duster’s class-leading approach and departure angles, coupled with downhill speed control, ensure confidence even on steep slopes.

Inside, off-road drivers are supported by the 4WD monitor, which provides real-time data on the infotainment screen, including torque distribution, uphill/downhill pitch, and lateral tilt. The ability to monitor these parameters is invaluable when navigating rugged landscapes.

Safety Comes Standard

In today’s driving environment, safety is a top priority, and Renault has packed the new Duster with features designed to protect all occupants. The standard safety kit includes six airbags, Blind Spot Detection (BSD), a Multiview camera system with 360 sensors, and a Tyre Pressure Detector. These features, along with advanced driver assistance systems (ADAS) such as Hill Start Assist, ensure peace of mind on every journey.

The Duster’s enhanced chassis rigidity and improved crash protection reinforce Renault’s commitment to safety, ensuring the highest level of protection for both driver and passengers.

Reimagined And Ready For Adventure The All New Renault Duster

Value for Money: Affordable Luxury

In a segment where affordability is key, the Duster remains an outstanding value. Starting at just R489,999, the third-generation Duster continues Renault’s tradition of offering a feature-packed, practical, and stylish vehicle at an accessible price. The Zen 6MT 4WD Mild Hybrid, Zen EDC 4×2, and the top-tier Intens EDC 4×2 offer varying levels of equipment to suit a wide range of needs, all while maintaining a competitive price point.

A Green Future: Sustainable Materials and Manufacturing

Renault has further enhanced the Duster’s eco-credentials by using sustainable materials, including Starkle®—a durable, recycled polypropylene—used in the exterior cladding. With an emphasis on reducing waste and minimizing the environmental impact of manufacturing, the Duster is not only ready for adventure, but it’s also doing its part to help protect the environment.

A New Chapter for the Renault Duster

The 2025 Renault Duster sets a new benchmark for the compact SUV segment. With its bold new design, eco-smart powertrain options, advanced technology, and unbeatable off-road performance, the Duster is more than just a car; it’s a true companion for those seeking adventure, comfort, and sustainability. Whether you’re navigating city streets or conquering rugged trails, the new Duster is ready to tackle it all.

This is the Duster reimagined—tougher, smarter, and more ready than ever for the journey ahead.
