Pretoria, South Africa – Friday, 09 January 2026: Range Rover has taken bespoke automotive artistry to an unprecedented level with the launch of its mirror-finish paint process, delivering a glass-like lustre and unmatched depth of shine on all Bespoke gloss paint commissions. Designed to evoke the clarity of polished stone and the refinement of patent leather, the mirror finish sets a new standard for personalised exterior finishes on Range Rover and Range Rover Sport models.
The announcement comes after Range Rover’s busiest year yet for its Bespoke service, highlighted by iconic commissions such as the Range Rover Fifty-Five Edition, celebrating the original 1970 Lincoln Green model, and the Range Rover Asilomar, inspired by Monterey Bay’s blue hues and featuring a duo-tone exterior with hand-crafted embroidery.
A New Benchmark in Paint Technology
The mirror-finish process represents a landmark in paint innovation, developed to achieve unparalleled smoothness, glossiness, and clarity. Bespoke experts created a new quality benchmark for the finish, combining a thicker top-coat lacquer with extended polishing stages. The result: a 25% increase in smoothness, producing a refined, glass-like sheen that elevates Range Rover’s tradition of craftsmanship.

Dedicated Facilities and Expanded Capability
To achieve this level of precision, Range Rover expanded its Bespoke facilities in 2025, introducing dedicated spray booths for hand-finished mirror paint. Every Bespoke gloss paint commission now receives this immaculate treatment, and the enhanced facilities will soon allow for an even wider palette of colours, enabling clients to bring increasingly complex visions to life.
Every vehicle is entrusted to a single team of in-house specialists, who oversee the car from arrival at the Bespoke facility through to handover. Over a meticulous three-day process, vehicles are hand-sprayed, sanded, and polished. Using advanced wave scan readers, artisans check every surface for perfection, hand-polishing down approximately 15 microns of lacquer to achieve the signature deep, enduring lustre.
A Statement of Individuality
“Our new mirror finish is a perfect demonstration of what the Range Rover Bespoke philosophy stands for: refined craftsmanship, the highest levels of precision and the deepest personal connection,” said Martin Limpert, Global Managing Director, Range Rover. “It allows clients to express themselves with absolute clarity, while our artisans continue to push the boundaries of materiality and finishes to deliver one-of-one examples that are unmistakably Range Rover.”
Range Rover Houses around the world offer clients exclusive one-to-one commissioning experiences, including the newly opened Bespoke Commissioning Studio in Antwerp. Beyond paint, the Bespoke service encompasses custom embroidery, exclusive leather colours, wheel options, and a ‘Match to Sample’ paint service, giving clients near-limitless possibilities to create a truly singular vehicle.
With the mirror-finish process, Range Rover has redefined what bespoke automotive luxury can look like, offering a level of exterior refinement that is as technically impressive as it is visually breathtaking.
