The ultimate throwback to the eighties and nineties automotive lifestyle takes place on Saturday 23rd August.
Bicester, 5 June 2025 – Hagerty’s unmissable celebration of retro cool, RADwood UK, returns to Bicester Motion on Saturday 23rd August 2025. Now firmly established as the UK’s only immersive celebration of eighties and nineties car culture, the event brings together the unmistakable spirit of two gloriously excessive decades—where yuppie-era sports cars meet boom-box beats, shell suits, and shoulder pads.
Born in California and brought to life by enthusiasts Art Cervantes and Warren Madsen in 2017, RADwood was created to honour more than just the cars—it’s a full-blown cultural revival. Think of it as the Goodwood Revival for the VHS generation. From period-correct fashion to arcade machines and synth-pop soundtracks, it’s a festival that doesn’t just show the era—it lives it.
At its core, RADwood celebrates the era’s most iconic vehicles—from wedge-shaped exotics and turbocharged hot hatchbacks to boxy saloons and tuner specials. Whether you’re into Audi Quattros, E30 BMWs, Nova SRis or a wide-arched 911 Turbo, there’s something at RADwood that will stir the soul of anyone who remembers taping Top of the Pops or playing OutRun in the arcade.

RAD to the Core: Show and Shine
For those who proudly own a RAD-era car (manufactured between 1980 and 1999), the Show and Shine ticket ensures their pride and joy takes centre stage. Cars will be judged on everything from originality to period-correct mods, with coveted awards handed out to the most eye-catching rides of the day.
The Hagerty Clubhouse Experience
For a true VIP throwback, the Hagerty Drivers Club will host an exclusive members’ area inside the Hagerty Clubhouse. Expect fantastic food, retro arcade games, a fully licensed bar and a place to soak in the RADwood vibes in style. HDC members gain complimentary access, while non-members can join in for an additional £10 per person.
Mark Roper, Managing Director of Hagerty International, sums up the spirit of the event:
“RADwood is the Goodwood Revival for a new generation. We celebrate the cars, the music, the fashion and the culture of the eighties and nineties in a relaxed and fun way to create a fully immersive experience. As Bicester Motion is our home, we look forward to opening the doors to the Hagerty Clubhouse and seeing the site fill with examples of automotive excess from this great era.”
Whether you lived it the first time around or just love the vibe, RADwood UK is your chance to rewind to a bolder, brighter era of motoring. So dig out those Reebok Pumps, dust off the mixtapes, and prepare to party like it’s 1989.
