Peterborough, UK – 28th January 2025 – Radical Motorsport, the globally renowned British race car manufacturer, proudly marks a significant milestone in its illustrious history: the production of its 3,000th race car. This achievement coincides with the company’s 28th anniversary, further solidifying Radical’s reputation as a dominant force in motorsport innovation and accessibility.
The landmark vehicle, an exquisite example of Radical’s iconic SR3, emerged from the production line at the company’s Peterborough headquarters, destined for long-standing Radical Cup UK competitor John Hewitt. To commemorate the occasion, the SR3 has been uniquely crafted with a one-off chassis powder-coated in a striking bronze finish, complemented by matching bronze wheels and decals—a tribute to Radical’s rich racing heritage.
Since its founding in 1997, Radical Motorsport has revolutionised the motorsport landscape, making high-performance racing more attainable for both amateur enthusiasts and seasoned professionals. With representation in over 20 countries through a 30+ strong dealer network, Radical supports 14 single-make Radical Cup championships worldwide, providing a seamless bridge from club-level racing to the global stage.
Despite an increasingly challenging climate in the UK automotive sector, Radical Motorsport continues to thrive. While many manufacturers grapple with declining production volumes and economic uncertainties, Radical has defied the odds by honing in on its niche market, fostering deep customer engagement, and expanding its global motorsport programs.

“Reaching the 3,000th car milestone is a testament to the dedication and talent of our team,” said Dan Redpath, Chief Commercial Officer of Radical Motorsport. “It’s a proud moment not only for Radical but also for our customers and fans who have supported us through this incredible journey. Our success demonstrates that by focusing on what we do best – delivering world-class race cars and unrivalled customer experiences – we can thrive even in challenging times.”
This milestone is particularly significant as the 3,000th Radical is delivered to a UK customer, reinforcing the brand’s deep-rooted commitment to its domestic racing community. The date, 28th January, holds historical significance, marking exactly 28 years since the company’s inception. Just months after its founding in 1997, Radical debuted its first model, the 1100 Clubsport, at Brands Hatch. Within two years, Radical had cultivated a dedicated customer base large enough to fill an entire racing grid, setting the foundation for the thriving Radical racing scene seen today.
As Radical Motorsport looks ahead, this milestone serves as both a celebration of its past achievements and a launchpad for future growth. With a steadfast commitment to performance, innovation, and accessibility, the company is poised to continue shaping the future of motorsport for years to come.
