2nd December 2022, Banbury, United Kingdom. Prodrive Advanced Technology has announced changes to its team to best support clients in a changing world.

As the world continues to change, we continue to witness the most significant technological transformation in our lifetime as the sectors Prodrive serves decarbonise. This results in a race to market for many; but Prodrive’s motorsport ethos and agility continues to help its clients outpace their competition.

To ensure Prodrive can best support its growing client base, updates to its Advanced Technology structure have been implemented so that it can continue to expand its existing capability to rapidly introduce production-ready solutions.

The changes include bringing in additional senior talent to supplement the existing multi-disciplined Advanced Technology team; following Iain Roche recently assuming the role of Managing Director.

Pete Tibbles, using his comprehensive programme, supply chain management, product launch and operational experience, takes on the newly created role of Head of New Product Introduction. Darryl Roberts’ product delivery and quality management background will be key in his new role as Operations Director.

Jason Watkins (previously Ricardo, McLaren Applied Technology & Cosworth) joins as Commercial Director, bringing extensive experience in strategy, delivery, and Business Unit management from within both the automotive and motorsport sectors alongside Andy Strange (previously Ricardo, Tata Motors and hofer powertrain) who joins as Technical Director, bringing additional electrical integration and electrification experience, key in the continuing development of Prodrive’s already established capability in this area.

Dr Iain Roche said:

“When I joined Prodrive Advanced Technology earlier this year, I was very excited to be joining the diverse group of thinkers that form our Engineering Team . The last 6 months have served only to solidify this and as we witness one of the most significant inflection points in technology development as we see all the sectors we serve decarbonise.

To best support our customers through this change, making these updates to our organisational structure means we can strengthen our capability and capacity to support our fast growing client base through design, development and into production.”

Jason Watkins, who has worked in many of the markets Prodrive already serves including Defence, Automotive, Commercial Vehicles, and Motorsport, said on joining:

“I’m thrilled to be joining Prodrive Advanced Technology at this time. I have known of and worked with Prodrive over many years and have always admired the professionalism and success that have always been associated with the brand.

The fast-moving pace of change in the mobility sector is unlike anything we have seen before, and Prodrive Advanced Technology is exceptionally well placed to leverage its extensive and impressive team of subject matter experts in engineering mobility, combined with the motorsport culture of agility and ‘right-first-time, on-time’ to solve complex problems and deliver value for our clients.”

Andy Strange said:

“The capability and pedigree of the multi-disciplinary team here really drew me in, so I’m excited about the opportunity to leverage my knowledge and network to develop and build the engineering team here at Prodrive Advanced Technology.

This strong foundation makes me confident that we are well equipped to continue intelligently solving our customers’ engineering problems as the race to net-zero continues across the mobility sector.”
