Portland, Jan. 12, 2012—Aware that the best way to promote a product is through a hands on experience, automakers are offering more Ride & Drive events than ever.
The Portland International Auto Show, running Thursday, Jan. 26 – Sunday, Jan. 29, 2012, will play host to a record number of Ride & Drive events at this year’s show.
Staged around the Oregon Convention Center, and even inside the convention center in the case of Camp Jeep, Ride & Drive events provide show guests the opportunity to put their preferred vehicles through their paces. Participating automakers are General Motors, Jeep, Kia, Subaru, Toyota along with its Scion brand, and Volkswagen.
Some of the latest technologies automakers have been working on will be front and center at the show, one of the earliest opportunities of the new year for the general public to see what’s available in the marketplace.
“The Ride and Drive experience is a proven tool for automakers as consumers evaluate their vehicle options,” said Greg Remensperger, executive vice president of the Metro Portland New Car Dealers Association. “Ultimately the payback is that it will drive customers to the dealership, which is why automakers have committed to be in Portland.”
