On 16 June 2012 a group from the Porsche Centre Wilmslow is raising money for BEN, the automotive industry charity by taking part in the UK Three Peaks Challenge.
The Three Peaks Challenge takes on the highest mountains in Scotland, England and Wales all within 24hours! The trek covers an astonishing 40kms, involves climbing 3,400m and traveling more than 556 miles between the peaks.
The challenge begins in one of Scotland’s most scenic areas: Glen Nevis Valley, where the teams will climb Ben Nevis, the largest mountain in the UK, standing at 1,344m. Scafell Pike, the highest mountain in England standing at 978m is the second peak and finally the challengers take on the highest mountain in Wales: Snowdon, standing at 1,085m.
The team from Porsche have been training for some time and are known as ‘The Stratstone Porsche Pie-oneers’. Dean Robinson, Gavin Bailey and Stuart ‘The Driver’ are the three Sales Executives who make up the contingent and when asked about the team name, Dean Robinson said “We are going under the name of The Stratstone Porsche Pie-oneers – Pie because we were more likely to be eating Pies than pioneering mountains.”
BEN’s Events Manager, Kelly Neal, commented “We are always excited when people go above and beyond to raise money for BEN and Porsche are really putting themselves out there. We wish them all the best and will be supporting them all the way.”
