GOTHENBURG, SWEDEN – 3 July 2025 – Polestar (Nasdaq: PSNY) is accelerating its growth strategy with the announcement of a major development and manufacturing partnership with Volvo Cars for its forthcoming Polestar 7. The move marks a strategic expansion of Polestar’s manufacturing footprint into continental Europe and cements its commitment to delivering high-performance electric vehicles built on the latest technology platforms within the Geely Holding Group.
The Polestar 7, a premium compact SUV set for global launch in 2028, will be produced at Volvo Cars’ state-of-the-art factory in Košice, Slovakia. Originally announced in 2023, the Košice facility provides strong logistical advantages for European distribution and leverages a mature supplier ecosystem, further enhancing cost-efficiency and production scalability.
This collaboration is underpinned by a newly signed memorandum of understanding between the two companies. While Polestar will retain its distinctive design and performance ethos, the model will benefit from a shared technology base developed in close coordination with Volvo Cars. That includes next-generation cell-to-body battery integration, improved energy density, and advanced e-motor technology—all hallmarks of Polestar’s evolution as a performance-focused EV brand.

This includes precise chassis tuning, dynamic performance calibration, and minimalist Scandinavian design, elements that continue to resonate with Polestar’s growing global customer base.
